Difficult last names...

We've finally picked names for our twins, for any gender combination, and I am sooo relieved. It's been a really tough ride.

My boyfriend's last name (the name we're using for the babies, and will be my last name in the future as well) is Dyck. It's pronounced Dick.

So, of course I liked the name Harrison, and it was brought to my attention that Harry is short for Harrison, and Harry Dyck wouldn't work. We liked the name Aldous (one of my favorite authors is Aldous Huxley) and Ben made the joke "You can't hadn't All-dis-dyck" And of course Sawyer wouldn't work, nor would Miles or Rosie or Carrie...

I suppose it's a positive, the fact that we both have dirty minds - if not for that, we might not have noticed all the potential no-no's.

So we finally decided on Miliana and Penelope (Mili and Penny) and Jonah and Elliott.

 

:lol: Well I like The names that you have choosen. That sucks you cant have the names you really like. I would of picked up on that too I guess dirty minds think alike!!!!

I hear ya on the hard last names. Our last name is Naylor and my DH wanted to name our Daughter Ivana....Ivana Naylor. Ummm....No!! There were a few others but I can't think of them at the moment. It definitely creates a unique challenge!

 

I love the names you have chosen!!! what will you use if you have a boy and a girl?
