The boys have weighed almost the exact same since birht (Born at 35 weeks and both were 4 lbs 12 oz.)

At their last appointment Michael (baby A) was 8lbs8oz and Jeremiah (B) was 8lbs 12 oz.) - that was when they were 2 months old. Now they are three months and Jeremiah is obviously bigger then Michael. Seems like by a few pounds. Is this normal? has Jeremiah just taken off or is Michael not gaining?

I know they are two different babies, but I am still concerned about michael's wieght. What can cause poor weight gain. My supply is good (considering Jeremiah has gained real well). Michael does well at breast feeding - so I dont think that is it.

I am going to go to the doctor next week, but I am just worried.

    Should I be?

Up until about 9 months of age, my twins flip flopped every time as far as who weighed more. Then Beth took off and has been bigger ever since - up to three pounds heavier. I think it just happens. These days, Jackie eats significantly more than Beth, but still weighs less. I think she just burns more off quicker.

I don't think you need to be worried, but since you are going to the dr. next week, check with them and see what they say.

I don't think its anything to worry about as long as they are gaining weight. At 3 1/2 mths my boys were 2 1/2 lbs apart. (They were 5lbs and 4lbs 15ozs at birth). One eats over 30 oz a day and one only about 24. The pedi said she isn't concerned as long as they are gaining weight. One may be going through a growth spurt now and the other one may be doing it in a few weeks.

I wouldnt worry they are different babies just like you said and if you didnt have twins you would not be able to compare everyday. If you are really concerned you can call the nurse and see if you can get in for just a weight check. :hug99:

They are two different children. It's hard to remember, but true! Mine were born with a 2 pound difference that slowly went to 3 pounds by 3 months and then 4 pounds by 4 or 5 months. It's stayed about the same since then. Yours are frat too so they are truly two different children who got different bodies.
On the positive side, if the size gap widens, you will get lots of wear out of your clothes since your smaller one will get the"hand me downs" of the larger one! We practically wear our sleepers out in this house.

Does the dr. seemed concerned with their weights? Our dr. has always said as long as they stay on their own growth curves, he is not concerned. Is one growing a little faster than the other now?

Mine were about 1 1/2 apart at birth and now at 3 yrs old, they are about 5 lbs apart...and they are ID twins! It's ok, kids grow at different rates (Peyton is more active and burns it off faster, I think!)

I would not worry about it. Mines where a couple of ounces apart at birth. But now, Raazaq weighs 1.4 pounds more than Raazia. He just eats more.

Mine were born 1lb apart, and now are 4 pounds apart - and they are ID twins. But they are different people, nonetheless. Unless your pedi is concerned, or you are concerned about feeding habits, I wouldn't worry too much yet.

My babies are 5 pounds apart at 10 months old. Natalie has always been bigger than Nathan.

No, I wouldn't worry! If they are fraternal maybe one is going to be bigger than the other! If they are both eating and having dirty diapers I wouldn't worry!

I think you are obsessing (from what I see on your signature). they're different people and are going to grow differently. Mine were born an ounce apart and are now over 2 lbs apart. don't trip momma. they're all good.

Like you said they are two different babies so they won't always be exactly the same, or do things at the exact same time. I have ID twin cousins and one has always been a little taller than the other.
