I swear EVERY time i go to my doctor's appointment it's a different story. It's making me nuts! The OB that is to do either my induction or c-section said all along we will schedule around 36-38 weeks.Well he's been on vacation the last two weeks so i've been seeing the other doctors. There's 3 doctors and one midwife.

When i started to have the funneling the one doctor said that she would like to get me to 36 weeks, but anytime after 34 weeks they will not stop labor.

This week i saw another doctor and she said that they won't even schedule an induction until 39 weeks!!She said she doesn't think i will make it that long but they won't do anything until then? She said she'd like to see me go into labor in a few weeks but won't do anything to make it happen??This worries me because my twins share a placenta and from what i've read don't they stop thriving after 36-37 weeks? And doesn't the placenta start to deteriorate?I mean,i want them to bake as long as possible so they have the best chance at being healthy and would love to avoid the NICU if at all possible, but is that safe to go that long with mono-di twins?

I'm SO glad my OB will be back this week so i can get some answers,I see him on Tuesday!!I guess my question is what if i don't go into labor on my own, won't they be putting them at risk letting me go until 39 weeks?(All my pregnancies but one have been overdue or right on time.)

Has anyone gone this far with mono-di twins?

 I'm sorry that you are getting so many different opinions. I didn't have mono-di twins, so I can't share experiences of going to 39 weeks. I think if you want more clear cut answers, can you ask your doctor if they can all talk to one another and give you ONE answer? I'm sorry.

Im sorry! Maybe you can get a true answer soon! I know all doctors are different and Im not even sure of the norm for twins, but my doctor will induce a twin pregnancy at 36 weeks. He says the risks just rise after that.

My doctor told me 38 weeks was the norm. Everything starts to deteriorate faster after that I was told. I am sorry you are getting so many different opinions. When I found out I was having twins I asked my doctor if he was planning to be away around my delivery date. His holidays are not booked until December he said and my twins will be born at the end of October, beginning of November. If I make it that long. I would just ask your doctor to tell the other doctors the plan as he is still your doctor wether he is going to be around or not.
If it were me in your position I would be very frustrated. I can't imagine having more then one doctor. I told my doctor I refuse to have the babies unless he is delivering as I completely trust him and have heard some bad things about some of the other doctors that deliver in the hospital. Of course i have no choice. If they are ready to come out they will come out.
