Did your PPD recur at 2yrs?

My kids aren't 2 years old yet and my PPD hasn't recurred, so this isn't a cry for help -- just curious. I just read on a fairly reputable-seeming website that PPD "often" recurs in moms of twins when the twins are around 2. Anyone have this happen to them?

My PPD wasn't terribly serious, and I feel soooo much better now that I honestly can't see it recurring unless something really awful happens. But it sort of made me wonder if I should be on the alert.

I had some serious baby blues with my older dd...never officially diagnosed as ppd... I'm just surprised that if it would re-occur as late as age two that they would even call it ppd...why not just call it depression?... I guess I could see a hormonal link if a woman has just stopped bf that late..but if there has been a year already after the woman has stopped bf how can it be hormonally related to the birth of the twins...?... curious question though. Perhaps if someone has ppd and it never really resolves...or goes away for a few months and then comes back??... maybe that's why?..or maybe women who try to come off medication around two years become depressed again?... but at what point do you stop calling it ppd and start simply labelling it depression?... I wonder if they have done studies on whether it's really related to the twins or more related to other life situations..financial stress, lack of help...you would think these outside stressors would be just as common though with families that have several children very close in age too... interesting thought...well, regardless of labels I hope any depressed mommy of twins or singletons finds a good reason to be joyful again. Let the springtime come!!

I have severe PPD and didn't go to the OB until the girls were about 11 months old. I'll be going off the med when the girls are about 18 months old, so I could see it "recurring" around that time due to going off the meds. At closer to 2? I don't know. I do know at almost 16 months post-partum, I still have physical/medical issues from the pregnancy other than the ppd and they will still be from the pregnancy regardless of how long ago I gave birth since the pregnancy was the catalyst.

Technically my dx are Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PMDD, and now some depression. The anxiety/panic attacks started last September, and then got a little worse in January (we just upped my dose a little). I am currently on Paxil CR, Xanax and Ambian as needed, and on Wednesday I'm going to ask about changing meds or adding an antidepressant because the Paxil is causing some depression (side effect).
