Did your babies do this when they turned 6 months?

Wow...it seemed like the week they turned 6 months old they became VERY needy and clingy. My girls were sooo happy playing in their exersausers or jumper-oos, but here lately they just want to be held all the time. They cry and cry until they are picked up. I was just wondering if this was a stage that they go through at 6 months and if anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks!

When they get more mobile they grow more independent again and then around a year they'll get clingy all over again..... I don't remember 6 mos. being a point like that for us, but it's possible....

They are going to go through it off and on. My DD is very clingy still, but I just hold her and hug and kiss her and she wants to get down, so that works out! [IMG]

Yep, DD did this. It is just a phase - separation anxiety. DS could have cared less when she would cry and put her arms in the air. Thankfully they didn't do this at the same time because they are getting heavy to carry together! [IMG]

Johnny didn't really do that with me; he's pretty independant. But he also started scooting/crawling around 6 mos, so he likes to roam around & play. Zoe, on the other hand, has gotten VERY clingy. I can't hardly look away from her without her crying. I'm thinking maybe when she starts crawling she'll do better with it, too.

I have one that is starting to do that now. He plays nicely with his brother and then I accidently get into the picture and he cries and wants me to pick him up. It's quite annoying if you ask me. If I quickly dart back out of the picture, he forgets and is fine again.

My ds has been requesting my undivided attention for the last couple of weeks. He can be changed, fed, and playing and sees me feeding his ds and he starts crying. I feel bad for him because he has a pitiful cry. I don't know what to do about it. Hopefully it's just a short phase!

My babies have become less needy and fussy when I started imposing a stricter nap schedule. Now that they are napping more consistently, they are happier during wake times. They just needed more sleep. Could this be your problem?
