Did you use the PNP bassinett beyond the weight limit?

I just realized that the PNP bassinet weight limit is only 15 pounds. We have two PNPs and we use them both for naps, but my girls are just over 11 pounds and I sometimes put them in the same one for a few minutes (5 minutes tops) while I go to the bathroom or whatever. I suppose I should stop doing that, huh? It was so convenient. <_<

Is it really? I had no idea. I still put mine in there if I have to do something around the house or go to the bathroom, their weights are almost 30lbs combined! Yikes!

We did a little for ours, too, until I realized we were doing it, and stopped. It was so nice to be able to do that, too. I've seen a PNP with a basinet set up for twins that had a highger weight limit, but this was after I quit using mine.

yeah, we stopped and moved them into a crib at that time. If I need to stash them in the PNP, I just stick them in the bottom.

We used ours for a couple of weeks after they reached the weight limit, then we moved them to their crib.

We used ours for quite a while after they reached the age limit (not realizing that it was only 15 lbs.) But I was thinking that maybe the age limit has more to do with what a 15 lb baby should be able to do (i.e. reach up and fall out of the bassinet) vs. the weight itself?

We used ours until they were a combined weight of about 16 pounds. I had no idea there was a weight limit until we stopped.

Does the weight limit only apply to the top "shelf" part? Not sure what to call it, but on my Graco PNP it has an attachment/shelf that you use when they are newborns so you don't have to bend down all the way to the bottom of the PNP to pick them up. Once they were too big for that, I took that part off and now they both sit in the bottom of the PNP and play.

We waited till combined weight was 20lbs, then took the bassinet part out. We bought a mattress for the bottom so its more comfy. At 20lbs, it wasn't bowing and still was very secure to the edges. I agree with Caryanne...it may be more an ability to move around.

There is no weight limit on the diaper changing part and I still use it all the time. They are just getting too long for it now, so I'll be stopping soon. :(

I did stop using the bassinet, but still use the diaper changing part even though they are way to big for it really. The bottom part of the pnp also has a weight limit which is usually 30 lbs. That isn't very much when you consider combined weight of the two. I'm embarrassed to say I still stick my two in there very occasionally & their combined weight is probably 56 lbs now (I only recently realized there was a weight limit). Of course, I really think one 56 lb child would be different than two weighing that together because the weight with two of them would be more evenly distributed. But still, I hardly ever use mine now because of the weight limit.

I'm still using the bassinet part and their combined weights are 22 lbs

It bows only a tiny bit and still is secure. I'm going to stop soon though.

We stopped using the bassinet part around 2 months. When we took the pnp on vacation (they were 6 months old) we put them in the bottom area and they did well there :) .
