Did you "feel" your labor coming?

I know everyone is different, but I am curious how others experience with going into labor went (assuming you actually went into labor and were not induced). I have been feeling like crap the past 36 or so hours (or more so than the past 6 weeks). Last night I start timing my contractions (and they were about 9-10 mins apart), only to fall asleep after taking my prescription for insomina. I knew that if the contractions went away, I wasn't actually in labor. But I would have put money down last night that something was going on. I was having horrible cramping, to the point that I didn't want to talk during a contraction.

Today it started up again, the contractins along with period like cramping and back pain. I have not started timing, because I dont want to get my hopes up. I am wondering if this could be a sign that things are starting to happen? I am 36 weeks and miserable with two big boys weighing close to 7 lbs each.

Did any of you start to feel this way days before you went into labor??

i definitely wouldnt discount the idea of your labor starting. Dont hesitate to head to the dr to get checked out at the very least. When i went into labor the day before i was feeling pretty awful and when the contractions wouldnt let me sleep, i went in. Good luck!

Sounds like at least things are gearing up maybe? Mine was preterm labor but I did just feel off (especially in the belly...lots of trips to the bathroom). The contrax started off as just braxton hicks which I always got quite frequently but these were just feeling much stronger and harder. I was finally talked into going after they had been bad for I think 5 hours (they weren't really bad the whole time I don't think...maybe real bad for the last hour). I was 5cm and 50% when I got there. I have never timed any of my contractions with any of my labors. I was blessed with contrax that literally came one on top of each other for all of my labors. My nurses said thats common with people with rapid labors. So I don't know anything about the timing of them.
    Good luck!

No, I had no indication. The day I went into labor I had resigned myself to the fact that I would be pregnant for eternity and had waddled around Blockbuster buying several different tv series on DVD. I came home and started watching the first disc, got up to use the bathroom, and my water broke.

My first pregnancy I started getting faint contrctions that just took their time getting stronger and stronger til morning. This last time the contractions just hit all of a sudden and hit hard, so much so that we took off to the hospital right then and there. I don't remember any yucky feelings the day before just the slow building contractions for the first one. Good luck momma!! Hang in there!
