Did your babies sleep constant at nite.. like always wake up at the same times.. or...
would you get 5 hours stretches for a while(like a week) then have them waking every two hours like they were just born?

my babies have ween goiing to bed at 8 waking at 1-2 waking at 5-6 and then waking at 8-9! i loved it.. went ong for 2 weeks..

well all of a sudden.. last nite they woke at separate times 130, 3 , 445, 530, and then 8 it was awful!

    am i the only one?

Mine are 5.5 mos and completely inconsistent at night. One night DD will wake at 3am and her brother at 5am and then the next night they will flip flop. Some nights DD even wakes at 1 am and her brother 4am and her again for the day (so she thinks) at 6am. It is a complete crap shot and the only thing that stays consistent is that they go to bed between 7-7:30 and I try not to let them get up before 7am. Weirder still is that they wake at varying times for the day. For example DD was waking around 6:30 and then one day she woke at 6am and the next at 7am. DS who usually can be counted on waking at 7am woke at 6am yesterday.

It is a total guessing game at night around here and it drives me nuts! There seems to be no rhyme or reason about it!

If one wakes up, do you wake the other one up too to eat? We did this from the time they came home. After the first one was done eating, I'd lay her back down, then wake up the 2nd if she wasn't already up. One time I tried letting them each wake up on their own and it was horrible! It felt like I was up all night.

I normally wake them both for the first bottle at 1-2 Then they both wake at the same times.. But i am not going to wake the other if its not time to eat...

I am thinking maybe its just a growth spurt and they need to eat more??

    ETA: change sleepy brain mistakes

I'm thinking growth spurt. Both of mine had dropped the midnight feeding for about a week, then as of Thursday wanted it back. We upped DS's bottles from 4 to 5 ounces as he didn't seem satisfied and he again dropped the midnight feeding, DD still wants it.

Are they finishing all their bottles, if so, maybe it's time to up the ounces!!

I remember the same thing happening with mine. Just as I breathed a sigh of relief that their sleep patterns were longer/more consistent, unpredictability would ensue again. By the time they were 7-8 mos, though, they slept 10-12 hrs straight every night. It does get better!!

I would just let them wake on their own. That is what I did with the twins, and they began sleeping thru at 4 months.

With Katie, she wakes when she is ready, and most nights she sleeps all the way thru already, and has been since 1 month old.

Sounds like a growth spurt. Hopefully they will be back on track in a couple of days.

Our Kiddos are inconsistent as well right now. We feed them at 8:30p and some nights they are both out by 9:30, some nights midnight. A few nights in a row last week they went down at 10p and were right back up at 11p - bright eyed and bushy tailed. At this point DS is up twice a night still to feed, but DD (his bigger, little sister) sleeps through.

Over the last few weeks I've kept my eye on "Sleep through the night posts" and it seems between 3mos and 8mos all bets are off in terms of a regular sleep schedule.

Woo hoo - only 4 mos more of it to go! :D

I can completely relate! I don't know if the "off nights" are growth spurts, teething, or...???? But I can completely relate with the frustration.

Hang in there... this part (torturous night wakings) will soon be a distant memory. :hug99:
