Did the holiday break "ruin" anyone else's babies, too?

We had gotten to a reasonable point before Christmas. I could put them down awake for naps and bedtime. They took short naps and woke up once during the night, but it was tolerable. Well, having visitors and my husband home for a week has broken all that completely! They have been run ragged, missed naps, fallen asleep on their bottles at night, etc. They have each been up 2x at night, and we've been letting them sleep with us when they wake up so we can survive. Now my husband is back at work and today has been H-E-L-L. They napped for 15 minutes this morning when they fell asleep drinking bottles. And this afternoon Lilly did the same again but Katie flat-out refused to nap when I put her in the crib. I am going insane and so frustrated because I was finally seeing the light at the end of the sleep tunnel, and now it's been extinguished!

I don't wish this on anyone else, but misery does love company...

I am so right there with you. Between no power for a week due to a wicked wind storm, Chloe's surgery, the holidays and now back to work, it has wreacked total havoc on the schedule we had just started to get settled in to! [IMG]

Oh man! My babies have been sleeping through the night since 8 weeks. They have seriously woken up maybe once or twice since then.....we were gone for 2 weeks and the last four days have been AWEFUL!!! They have been waking up every 2 hours through the night just screaming. Last night luckily was much better they only woke up once at 4:00 and went back to sleep with a little rocking, but I never want/dare to leave again! Its funny how they do so much better with their own cribs in their own home...how do they know??? but they do! Hopefully it will keep getting better. The 9pm-9am was WONDERFUL, and I sure got out of the middle of the night waking mind set. I am exhausted.

Right there with you guys!! They seem to be totally lost...they have been crying a lot - and they are NOT criers!! ahhhhh They have been in a few different places these past two weeks and seem to be confused and upset. Now, that we are home, it took hours for them to settle down to a nap.

    Happy Holidays!!! ha ha ha

Sorry they are off kilter for you!!! You can get them back on track!! YOU CAN DO IT!! Just stay consistent with the schedule.

At 11 mos. when mine didn't nap, they were in their cribs for a min. of 1 hr. They would talk and play, but they were in there to give me some sanity time. It's "quiet time" if a nap doesn't occur!!

If misery loves company, and I believe that it does, count yourself not alone........oh will we ever go back to the way we were before Christmas?!!!

I hope today is a little better for you guys. Last night was somehow not so bad - they went longer between wakeups so I slept semi-OK. And we have actually achieved morning nap with only a few minutes of fussy babbling after I closed the door. There may be hope for us yet!

ETA - damn! 4 minutes after I posted this (20 minutes after falling asleep) the crying began. Noooooo!!!

Right there with you -- I just posted about our post-holiday woes. Glad to know that at least we aren't alone!

Yep, we can totally relate! DH doesn't go back to work until tomorrow and I could just cry! They've been so needy lately throwing little fits and all. There's going to be a lot of crying tomorrow when I can't get to them RIGHT AWAY as they would have it. And the sleep thing... [IMG] They wake up like three times at night now when they were sleeping thru before! Naps...what naps??? Maybe two 45 min naps a day, and then it's crank city until bed time! [IMG] I hope it gets better!!

We were on a three hour routine, when the holidays hit my mother in law fed one baby any time she fussed so now we are on demand and it is driving me nuts! Plus, the 3 am feeding is when they are both awake the best so I have a 3-6am time where we don't sleep!
