I went yesterday and purchased the carseats they didn't have the
one I wanted (and I don't get out of town much) but had another one that looked really nice 169.00 NICE [IMG] I got the Alfa & Omega Elite carseat. Then I get home with both of them and I go into look at the reviews before we install it and use it. There were ALOT of complaints on this carseat....Just makes me wonder if I need to take them back and get another type.

Does anyone have this carseat?? If so how do you like it??

Five years ago I purchased the Alfa Omega (they may have changed it since then). I hated it. The straps always bunched up. The seat belt from the car never really fit it right. I never really felt it was safe.

When I got pregnant with my daughter I decided to replace his car seat when I purchased hers. I found a good deal on line for the Britax Roundabout. I paid 170 each for them and they were the best buy I ever made. They were easy to wash, install, and comfy for the kids. I plan to use them with the twins when they go up to the toddler seat.

    Hope that helps!

I've always been told never to buy a Cosco brand car seat. I would return it and purchase something else. At that price you could get an Evenflo Triumph or for a little bit more a Britax.

We like this seat better than my other Alpha Omegas by Costco. The levers on top that adjust the harness without unbuckling the seat make it adjustable for my 3yo and 21mo w/o unbuckling from the car. We never used it rear-facing, but our other AOs are a pain to attach rear facing in our mini-van because of the rear sloping seats.

I have a really old AO that I could never afford to replace... I have a love/hate relationship with it. I think with the boys I'm going to pony up the dough and buy Britaxs.

I guess I am in the minority here. I have two of them, my girlfriend has two (twin girls), and another friend has two (two girls) and none of us has had any problems. I took them to the fire department to have them installed and they said they were fine. I looked at the Britax but didn't like the price for two of them (nor could I afford it at the time or now). Also, with a 32 lbs 16 month old, I couldn't see having to buy another seat since this one goes up to about 100 lbs. I have had problems with the belts turned but I fixed them and went on. Just wanted to say that I have had absolutely no problems with mine and they fit well in my minivan. Now, please keep in mind that I didn't install mine (I went to the fire department and they didn't have any problems).

Hate it [IMG] I would always research before buying a new carseat for my kiddos. I got an Eddie Bauer 5pt then booster for dd. I hated that too. I was spoiled going from Britax Roundabout to that (the EB was for dh's truck). So after fighting with that for about 6 months I gave it to a friend and dd was old enough/big enough/mature enough that I got the Graco turbo booster seat. I love iT!

So lesson learned, I bought two Britax Marathons for my boys! I got one NIP on ebay and the other 2 years old gently used from a close friend whose boy outgrew at 5! If the boys make it 3 more years in those I will be THRILLED [IMG]

I just don't know what to do [IMG]....I wanted one that would hold up to 80 or even 100 (like the A/O does) there are not alot of choices out there for holding that weight in my price range.

I would LOVE to get the Britax but I can't spend much more than I already have. I need one the same price OR cheaper.

I called the Fire Dept. and they said neither them or the Police Dept. would install it for me. [IMG] I have a 98 Tahoe so it might not be that bad to install BUT who knows...I could see how putting this carseat in the back of a Ford Taurus would be a pain in the Azz [IMG]

Like pp said I loved the fact that you can adjust the height without having to take it out every 3 months to adjust height.

I just don't know what I'm going to do [IMG] Take it back or Keep it [IMG]

We just bought the Eddie Bauer Alpha Omega carseats from Target and while they are a little more difficult to buckle in the middle (between their legs) we still like the carseats overall. We did quite a bit of research and it seems like every carseat has pros and cons. We finally decided to pick one and go with it. One big reason we liked these carseats was that they can convert to toddler seats up to 100 pounds. In my humble opinion, I say keep them. You can't beat the price and we feel like our kids are very safely strapped in! [IMG]

I haven't used the AO but I just wanted to let you know that we always bought our carseats (and pretty much everything else) online. I just never liked the selection at the store. You can often find online stores with sales, free shipping, and no-questions returns.

We use our Alpha Omega's and have had no problems with them at all. [IMG]

Aren't ALL car seats a pain anyway? [IMG]

Just keep it and move on! Your kids will be safe in the seats otherwise I really doubt they would get approval to sell them to us [IMG]

    Good luck!

How about the safety first apex. It is a combo seat. A convertible seat and booster combined. The seat has a 5pt harness from 20lbs up to 65 lbs and holds up to 100lbs total.

I don't have any personal experience w/ these but have heard them recomended. I personally have to graco my cargo seats. I love these seats. The only thing I would change is the that the harness only holds from 20 -40 lbs.

I have no idea how old the children you bought the seat for are but if they are over the age of 1 and 20 lbs they can use a combo seat. I looked up the seat you mentioned and couldn't get any info on it but in my expoerience a seat that says "convertible" only hold up to around 40lbs.

Last look at the back of the seat and see if it is all one piece. If it has a moveable (Kickstand like piece) return it. It breaks easily. HTH.

Ok, I just checked and they have the safety first apex available at toys r us (click your link and go to boosters)for 129.00. They are 5 pt harness from 22 - 65 lbs. Then a belt positionong booster for up to 100 lbs. IMO, a much better buy. These are located under boosters (as in booster seats) .

    Update

I installed the seats and in order for them to sit properly (layed back) in my Tahoe I need to drive right under the dash board also the arm rest take up several inches that interfear with my 6yr olds seating area. These seats are DOable in my vehicle with some uncomfortable arrangements but If.... I for some reason had to downsize in vehicles it wouldn't be DOable So I think I am going to take them back and see if I can get something that works a little better.

Thanks Yall for the suggestions I am going to check them out.
