did I let her eat too much?

We have always had eating issues with our twins and even low weight gain at times. Apparently dd can't get enough mac n cheese. I thought I would let her eat until she didn't want anymore being that she didn't do so well at lunch today. But she just keeps eating it. I'd say she had about 5 or 6 oz. What stopped her was that there was none left. I offered some fruit and veggie too but of course she didn't want any, was too busy enjoying her mac n cheese. Did I do bad? I hope she won't have a tummy ache and will sleep ok tonight.

I let Ellie (21mo) and the older girls eat until they decide they are done. Today Ellie and Jo both had a "full" kid size bowl of noodles with butter and parmesan cheese, then they both wanted another full bowl and ate it all! Not surprising with Ellie, shocking with Jo!

They will stop when they are full! That's my attitude!

I just let them keep eating until they are done. Every now and then we do stop my son after he has had 4 or 5 helpings of something if not he gets sick. He just gets a slightly upset stomach that is a little more than spit up but is fine before and after he does it (he usually doen't even notice he does it).

Glad to hear that your daughter has found another food that she likes.

Mine is like that with mac & cheese too. Normally she's a pretty moderate eater, but when presented with mac & cheese, she eats so much I'm sure she'll explode. So far, she never has!

One time Bea ate three toddler-size servings of spaghetti, one time an entire almond butter & jelly sandwich, plus sides. I think she eats a lot when she's going through a growth spurt. I wouldn't worry about it, she was just hungry!

Sounds like she just flat needed more of that mac and cheese. Now you can try to sneak other stuff in there if she goes for it big time again :D

Who doesn't love mac 'n cheese!! I know I help myself to an extra serving every once in a while... I'm sure she will be fine. In our house, mac n' cheese is one of those foods I fix if I feel C and C are not eating well. I know they will chomp it and I feel better that they ate more than 7 bites.

I would have done the same thing but I usually mix the veggies into the mac & cheese so they have to pick them out if they don't want them (hasn't been an issue so far).

I let my guys eat until they're full. If they gobble up one thing on their plate and ask for more, I do ask them to eat some of the other food before I give seconds on the one item. If something is proclaimed "icky", I don't force it. We're in a growth spurt right now and they're chowing down like crazy at every meal. It never ceases to amaze me how much they can eat and stay so skinny. For dinner last night, they split a huge carrot and a navel orange, ate almost an entire pork chop each, about 1/4 cup applesauce, and about 1/4 cup of cornbread stuffing (which was initially proclaimed icky but they changed their minds  ). When they finished, they both wanted a fig newton (which I went ahead and gave them and they ate it too).
