Did everyone have two chairs?

Does it make sense to have two chairs or just one because there isn't necessarily two free comodes at the same time in the house?

I realize I don't have to worry about this for a while, but the thought just occured to me.

Well, I bought one of each initially because you just never know who is going to prefer what kind (toilet seat insert or stand alone potty). Turns out they both hate the toilet insert and love the stand alone. (Note we don't actually start training until tomorrow!) So, I went out and bought a second stand alone. Sure there won't always be 2 toilets free at the same time but they need to have something available immediately while they are training, imo. They don't necessarily understand having to "hold it" right away AND my two tend to dawdle around on the potty right now so there could be quite a delay.

I don't, but my dd trained much earlier...and she trained from the beginning on the regular potty...she hated the stand alone potty seat. I think she just wanted to be like big sister. My son on the other hand loves "his" potty seat and won't let the girls near it now. If I were training both at the same time then I think I would have two potty chairs. My intuition tells me that you might have more success training identicals at the same time than fraternals.. and especially than b/g frats... (and I'm an identical twin...I'm not trying to imply that identicals are exactly the same personality...but I know enough about my sister and I to know that we did do things rather similarly, at the same time...)

Yes I think you probably do. I found they both were usually on the same toilet schedule becoz they usually ate and drank the same.

We even now have one potty in the bathroom just incase becoz in the morning when everyone is dying to go.. its helpful and nobody wants to run downstairs!!

We got two seats right away also. At first the girls would sit on their potties, and I would sit on the regular one with the lid down and talk with them while they were doing their deeds (when they actually did them...LOL). Now we use the big potty too. So one might sit on the big potty, and one the little, or just one on the big and Brooke will ignore me, or like before they will both sit on the little potties and I will sit patiently on the big one.

I only got one to begin with. But, the other day I went out and got another. They are at the "just sitting on the potty but nothing is happening" stage. The problem with only one potty was that they both wanted to sit at the same time and tried to push each other off. No one was accomplishing anything because they had to keep taking turns. Now they can sit on the potty at the same time and I am hoping that helps.

I didn't get any and they trained on the toilet (I only have one bathroom in the house so they always have gone one at a time).

We have one for upstairs and one for downstairs, but they share each.

We had a potty ring for each toilet. Never bought a potty. We never had an issue with them having to go at the same time. Occationally they would, and still do, need to pee at the same time, and they just use it together to make an "x".

We have one ring and one stand alone site.
I think both of my girls have gone more on the regular potty without the ring than in either of the potty train sits.
