Did anyone else experience this?

My twins are vertex-breech, and Baby A has been really low in my pelvis for a while now, and just keeps getting lower. It's been hard to measure him for at least the last six weeks--they really have to dig around my pubic bone with the u/s wand to measure his head. At the last appt A measured 5lbs12oz and B measured 5lbs7oz, but the OB said A's head was *so* low that he really doesn't have much confidence in the head circumference or estimated weight measurement. Since we're planning a vaginal delivery with possible breech extraction of Baby B, I'm wondering now if it's likely that B is actually much bigger than A; sounds like we just can't really know if A is too low to measure accurately.

My OB hasn't mentioned that this is a concern but I'm just curious if anyone else had a Baby A that was too low to measure accurately, and if so how things worked out. (And I know the u/s can be off by a pound in either direction so it's just an estimate anyway but it seems like A's is even rougher of an estimate than normal.) When the OB did my internal last week, he said A's head is so low that it's actually a little lower than my cervix, sort of pushing my cervix to a very posterior position which meant he couldn't check to see if I'm dilated without "torturing" me. Not sure if that's unusual either.

I had to have vaginal ultrasounds to measure Sydney during most of my pregnancy since she was very low.

    Good lcuk.

My twin A was hard to measure at the last two ultrasounds. His head was too low. At the scan I had 2 days before they were born, they thought he was 6lbs, 14oz and that baby B was 5lbs, 2oz. Baby A was born weighing 7lbs, 9oz and Baby B was 5lbs.

I had something very similar to what travellingmum posted. My baby A {my son} was very low and they couldn't get accurate readings on him. The last u/s they told me that my dd {b} was 6lbs 6oz and that my son was 6lbs. It turned out that baby B was 6.4 {so they were pretty close} and baby A was 7.14 {way off their reading}. Good luck!!

Interesting! Thanks for your responses. I'm curious to see how much they do end up weighing!

Aubrey (our Baby A) was so low that I always had a transvaginal ultrasound to get her measurements. She ended up being over a pound smaller than the last ultrasound showed. I was having weekly ultrasounds because I was in the hospital during my last 5 weeks of pregnancy. When they are that low it really makes it tough to get an accurate measurement. Good luck!

hi. i am 31.5 weeks along and my baby a has been low since my 27th week. during an ultrasound we seen how low she was and checked me for contractions, which i was having so they stopped them with magnesium, then again at 30 weeks. ill let u know what happens, but they cant get an accurate measurement on her either. u must be ahead of me so if u would keep me posted on what happens or what the difference is i would greatly appreciate it.
