i put the kids down later like you ladies suggested. instead of 10, they went down at 11 and fell asleep at 1115.
they just woke up. it's about 12:30. are they going to make it the whole day now? they usually go back down at 2 until 4, lol! but if you remember lately, they've been unable to actually fall asleep until 4ish.

i hope this works! i was hoping for a longer nap! i really wanted them to sleep from 11 - 2, lol!

This sounds like how our naps went for the first couple weeks of the transition. I recall putting them to bed much earlier than usual for those couple weeks, until their naps got longer. Hopefully it works out well for you... Also, if they get very cranky in the late afternoon, put them down for a 30 minute nap.

our experience was similar to PP - they had really short naps at first & we had to go with a much earlier bedtime until they lengthened their naps. as their nap got longer, their bedtime gradually got later again.

My two did the same thing. It took some time for them to lengthen their one nap. If they are looking sleepy and tired in the afternoon, I don't think it would hurt to attempt a second nap but if that is a no go then do an earlier bed time.

During the transition sometimes my kids would nap from 4-4:45. They still went to bed pretty early (by 8 p.m.) I didn't allow any napping past 5 p.m.

Mine did that too, except theirs was about 45 mins, and it made for some very long evenings! But I also put them to bed a bit earlier until their naps lengthened out. Mine now nap an average of 1.5 hrs and sometimes 2-2.5 hrs if they are really tired.

Mine had a little bit of a time transitioning to a longer 3 hr nap in the middle of the day... it probably took a couple of weeks to lengthen it to 3 hrs, but that was marvelous while it lasted - from Dec to April! (we're back to 2 hours now).

This happened with us. I would still put them down at 2ish when we were first transitioning. Many times they would just sit up there and quietly babble for 1 hour. I let them.

they were tired but i kept them busy. we shopped, ran errands and went to the park. they started getting tired around 4 but stuck it out and went to bed at 730!
