Ladies, I went to my six week check. My doctor said he hasn't seen a stomach like mine. I have diastasis recti and lots and lots of extra skin as well as stretch marks . He recommended a plastic surgeon. Any tips or thoughts? About losing weight? Stretch marks? I am breAstfeeding and babies are 6 weeks olf . Thanks!

Don't do crunches! If you're abdominal wall is separated, crunches will just make it worse. You may want to look into the Tupler technique. It can help heal the abdominal wall. I'm trying to link to a post but my phone's being ornery so I'll have to do it next time I'm on my computer.

I had a 6 fingertip width separation at 6 weeks that has healed to 1.5 fingertips at 4 months. I've been doing a variation of the Tupler technique the previous poster told you about. I would give physical therapy and exercise a chance before surgery, and definitely give yourself a few months to see improvement. 6 weeks is early!!!
