The twins formula was changed this week. It was a long time coming with both of them having acid reflux issues and such. They are on meds and get rice cereal in the bottles too. The final straw was when they decided to just not eat the Neosure anymore. They were obviously hungry but just would not eat. So the doctor said to switch to Alimentum. Now my son's poops seem to be fine, they are a tiny bit on the hard side but they were worse on the Neosure, so I am not too concerned. And if it continues, I know how to rectify it with the prune juice and water combo. My daughter's poops on the other hand, could be diarrhea but I'm not sure. The constancy is maybe a tad looser than her normal poops but the color is throwing me off. Normally it is black/green and tar like. Now it is a little bit looser but much lighter in color. Is there any sort of website that shows pics of normal and abnormal baby poops so that I can go and compare? The only other hope I have is that she will have a poopy diaper tomorrow when we go to follow up with the pediatrician.

Sometimes when you switch formulas, it can mess with their little digestive tracts a bit. I would definately mention it to the ped. I bet it will work itself out though.

Alimentum makes their poop watery. It is never really "thick" until they start eating cereal. It is a tough cleaning job every poop. Good luck!!!

My DD is on the Allemntum(sp) her poopys are not formed at all, very runny, and a greenish brown color. She has been on the formulas for about a month, and they have not hardened up at all. And the stink super bad :bad: HTH

One of my boys has had some poop issues, too. I think the triage nurse at our pediatrians office knows me by now because I've called so much worried about color, consistancy and smell! I understand it's alarming when you've got this weird color poopy coming out! I've been told not to worry unless the poop is hard.

My son was on alimentum and he had almost diarrhea like poops that were really stinky also. I think that is normal for that formula. I would still mention it to the doctor.

We're on Nutramigen here (which is basically the Aulimentum of the Enfamil line). Their poops are definitely not hard. They've been on it for several months, so I wouldn't expect them to firm up. Sorry!

And they are very stinky! And the burps...hold your breath! LOL
