diarrhea for 3 days?

one of my LOs had a loose BM yesterday and then 2 today. the last diaper i just changed was 100% just diarrhea.
he has no other 'issues.' what can it be? can he be sick?

 

Is he getting any teeth? Have you tried any new foods in the last couple of days? Has he been eating extra fruit?

If he seems happy and healthy in every other way, is eating well and, most importantly, getting lots of fluid I would try not to worry too much just yet. You could try giving him more foods that are a bit constipating (bananas, pears, rice etc) and holding off on things like yoghurt and more tropical/citrus-y fruits for a couple of days.

I know my kids would sometimes have a couple of days where they had unexplainable loose poos with no other symptoms and it almost always just went away on it's own.

I hope he's back to normal soon.

 

Sounds like it might be time to call the pedi.

 

I read somewhere that the average adult has acute diarrhea about 4 times per year, so perhaps children aren't any different. ardon: If he's eating and drinking well, and isn't in any discomfort, then he's probably fine. But I would probably call the ped just in case.

 

I would assume teething diaper if he has no fever and is eating/drinking. Just keep watch for diaper rash, those really wet diapers bring it on.

 

i will call tomorrow. no fever, very good appetite; im just not sure what could be wrong with him. i lathered him up with triple paste tonight and i hope he's ok in the morning.
