Well my sons have discovered they can take their diapers off at bed. It happens some time between me laying them down and them waking up and me coming in. My one son will not do it unless he see's his brother do it. So the other night they both went to bed in PJ's which have shorts and in the morning, I had TWO naked babies. The one that normally doesnt do it did it and pooped EVERYWHERE in his crib.
Ok so I hear stories of kids that make this a habit and that will go so far as to finger paint. Is there a quick way to stop this gross and bad habit. We have had them in more snug pants the past two nights and so far so good but I am just worried soon they will learn to get out of those as well.
Has any one been through this and what worked?
Please advice this poopy mess lol.

For our guys, thankfully it was just a phase. During that time, we had to resort to safety-pinning their one-piece PJ's shut (pinning the zipper at the top). Other than that, the best we could do was check on them before we went to bed and put them back in if they got undressed.

    Hope that helps!

Here are a few suggestions that I have heard of....

    1. DUCT TAPE the diaper
    2. put a onesie on them BACKWARDS
    3. Put their one piece PJ's on Backwards

    Good luck to you!

My little girl became the queen of naked some time ago. We put diapers on backwards, then went to one piece zippered Pj's, then we would take and safety pin the zipper. She knew that it was her Jammie Lock.

I have to put my girls in one-piece pajamas backwards at both nap and bedtime. They were stripping too. I did onesies for a while, but they figured those out. Good luck!

My 19 month-old can get out of any clothes that I put on her, so we've gone to duct taping her diaper for naps and bedtimes. Poop in the crib is so gross and a pain to clean and sanitize. So far the duct tape has been great, we just put a little piece over the velcro of the diaper. I keep the scissors on top of her dresser to cut it off in the morning. It's worked for us!

What worked for a little while, until got out of the phase, was to put a sleepsac on backwards. Now the one who took of the diaper can unzip the sleepsac while on backwards, but is out of that phase (until I type this and he thinks of it again)

One of mine has gotton worse about taking off her diaper too and I'm afraid I'm going to have to resort to some of these measures! This is just me being paranoid, I know they're not that coordinated yet, but can a 2 year old figure out how to open a safety pin? That seems like that would be an easier solution once it gets cooler and we get out the winter jammies, but I'd be nervous she could somehow figure out how to undo it and poke herself in the eye or something!

I didn't want to do a safety pin because I was paranoid about them undoing it too. Backwards pajamas are working fine, and they really aren't much trouble. Once you get the hang of putting them on backwards, it's no more work than putting them on frontways. I bought a lot of used lightweight one piece pajamas and cut the feet off. I also had to cut the sleeves off some to accomodate Bea's cast. I couldn't see cutting up brand new pj's.

I use masking tape. They haven't figured out how to get it off yet and you can tear it loose in the morning! Good luck! Those poopy beds are a pain to clean!
