Okay, so this isn't a really huge deal or anything, but I am curious what you would do. My twins are about 3 1/2 pounds apart. Dd is about 19 lbs, ds is a little over 22. anyway, right now, they are wearing size 3 diapers. Dd fits in them well and i wouldn't even consider upping her size, but... ds is quite wide around the middle. His diapers just don't fit the way i think they should and would probably move up a size without second thought if there wasn't another one. I really was trying not to buy two different sizes so it wouldn't be a pain searching for the right size at home or in the diaper bag.
    So, what would you do?

keep them both in size 3 until dd gets a bit bigger?
    buy two different size diapers?
put them both in size 4 and hope dd doesn't swim in them?

    Just curious.....

I'd put them both in size 4's, mine were in size 4's from like 18 pounds on.

My kids have never really been in the same size diaper. They are in pullups now but he wears a 4T-5T and she wears 2-3T.

My boys haen't been the same size for the longest time. They are 2 sizes apart now.

If I really only wanted to buy 1 size for both, I'd get the bigger size.

Mine are only 6 months old and DS is in 4's and DD is finishing the 3's I have and then she will be in 4's as well. I do not like this 2 sizes thing at all!

My girls were in two different sizes for a couple months, they had a couple pounds difference and the diapers would have been way to big on Katrina if I upped her size so I bought two different ones. But as soon as I could I did move her up to the bigger ones. I waited to move her since I figured they would leak if I moved her to soon to the bigger ones (wouldn't have been tight enough around the legs).

My 2 are in two different sizes. My DS wears a 6 and my DD wears a 5. DS is 31lbs and DD is 23lbs and they are 2 1/2 yrs old. DD can wear a 6 if I run out of 5s but it is a bit big on her.

Weve been in two different sizes for a long time now. Peanut dd wears a 4 and ds a 6. At first I thought it was confusing but now I don't even bat an eye at it. Oh and dd would swim in his diapers if she tried to wear them

Mine were in different size diapers for several months (Amy in 3, Sarah in 4). We just got used to it. It's kind of a pain, but the 3's were clearly too small on Sarah's chunky legs, yet Amy was swimming in 4's. We always made sure we had 4's in the diaper bag -- we didn't go out that much, so it wasn't that big a deal if we had to put Amy in a 4 once in a while.

We buy ours at Costco, so each box has several plastic packages with 20-30 diapers each. I wrote "4" or "3" in huge black magic marker on top of the plastic, and we took diapers out of the package one at a time.

I always move them up a size at the same time. But they are aways w/in a lb of each other. But I have to say I amazed that size 3's still fit!!!! My two are in size 5's now and are only about 23lbs (were in size 4's from about 17lbs).

The K team were only in the same size as long as Kyle was in newborns (not very long!!). I didn't think it was a big deal with them being in different sizes. I kept one size on the left and one size on the right in the diaper bag and on the changing table.

We were only in size NB and size 1 at the same time, so we were used to it!

my ds is in 4s and my dd just moved up to 5s. the 4s were really tight on her...leaving marks and all. i don't mind having two sizes. doesn't bother me. i would do whatever is right for the kiddos and seems comfortable on them.

DS #2 and #3 are in different sizes. Michael DS2 is in a 6, Matthew (ds 3 ) is in a 5. Michael is starting to potty train himself, so he's in pull ups and under pants during the day. So it makes it easier to know which gets which.

I would go ahead and get the 4s to see how they work. If they don't fit DD yet, then you can make your decision from there. Either way, you'll need the 4s eventually so you might as well try them out. :)

Our girls have maintained a five pound weight difference for quite awhile now, so I don't really remember a time that they were in the same size. I don't think much of having the two different sizes. We keep the smaller ones on the left...it's really not a big deal. Good luck.

We have about a 5 pound difference with DS in the lead and he has a gut. Right now they are in 4's and DD could stay there for a while. But since DS is about to look like he's wearing a Speedo, we will switch soon. This has happened every time- DS outgrows them and DD is not ready. I just tighten them on DD and it's okay.

 That gave me a real chuckle. I can picture my Brayden in a Speedo. With that big gut too....
