One of my girls has a diaper rash that has lasted for about 3 days (since wed.). It seems pretty intense, but not yeasty, almost bumpy. The strange thing is is that is also on her tummy below her belly button. U amde her an appointment for this afternoon. Any ideas on what this could be? We also have recently switched to cows milk...
    TIA!

any fever at all, even super low grade?
    Could be roseola if so.

You should defiantly see your Dr. just to be safe.
But, might just be a heat rash? In summer weather my girls always get them and I use Aquafor on them, it works really well for us, as my girls have very sensitive skin.
    Good luck

Ben gets yeast rashes around his tummy area from time to time, which sounds like what you described. We cover the bumps with lotrimin, then hydrocortisone cream, and then Desitin. It clears up in a couple days.

Is it red, bumpy and itchy? It could be shingles.

My boys have a rash that sounds similar, except it is on their backs as well, well above the diaper line. We have seen 3 doctors, all with a different diagnosis. So we have tried, fungal creme, diaper rash creme, hydrocortisone and hydrocortisone with antibiotic and I am not sure which one works. The rash just seems to move around. Grayson even has it under his armpit.

So let me know if you find out what it is!!

    Hi,

My one son ALWAYS gets a red bumpy rash on his stomach and chest when he is TEETHING! A neighbor mom told me just to use the Zinc cream and I do. It works everytime!

Its a sure fire way for me to know when he is getting a new tooth!

    Good luck!

Mine get the exact same thing and I noticed it is only when they get really hot and sweat under the diaper. I let mine be naked as much as possible then and it clears up quickly.

    Hope it's nothing serious.

We can blame it on the heat and bacteria. Poor little thing...the band around the tummy was being irritated by sweat and made it all red, etc. The bumps were actually from a diaper rash that caused bacteria to spreawd from the chafing. I used neosporin on it, per doctors orders, and it is pretty much cleared up..phew!
Grey..i hope your boys clear up...i'm not sure if my diagnoses helsp you at all...good luck!

P.S. I went straight home and adjusted the thermometer on teh air conditioner. No more sweating while asleep for my little girlies!

Ask your Dr if he'll give you a prescription for Lantiseptic. It is a great barrier & works good to solve a diaper rash as well.
