I can't leave DS naked on a towel like DD -- if you get my drift...pee can be squirting everywhere -- LOL
DS has a diaper rash..any suggestions?

How about taking his diaper off after you know he just went? That way you could at least give him 10 min or so of air time.

I used to lay my boys naked with a cloth diaper between their legs to avoid the spray!

LOL...how about a bigger towel??

I had a prescription called C-Nystatin-HC-ZNO. After one, maybe two applications...they were over it

But, I also would do some hair dryer moments to dry up all the little rolls. And let them lay and air it out, too!

How about using a hair dryer on their little tushes and bits to dry everything off before putting on a fresh diaper?

Also, we really like the Avalon Organics diaper ointment with zinc. It has twice the amount of zinc that desitin has but it contains none of the scary stuff that's in desitin like parabens.

My boys both have very sensitive skin. I like to use Desitin mixed with stomahesive powder. We use this on the babies with bad diaper rash at work and it makes a thick paste that provides a nice barrier to protect the skin. I know you can get the powder online at Walgreens, but I haven't looked for it in the store. The brand is Convatec. I know there are others, but this is the only brand I have used. My pedi also wrote the boys a prescription for Vusion ointment. It works really well but, its extremely expensive ($250 a tube without insurance). Maybe you could ask for samples. My pedi gives us some everytime we go. Good Luck :)

With my boys, I found that the wipes we used gave them diaper rash. We switched to Pampers Sensitive, and haven't had a problem with it since. Until we tried the Pampers Baby Dry diapers, which made their tushies from the first one. So we switched back to Pampers regular diapers.

When they did have rash, we actually used damp Viva paper towels, and then patted their tushies dry before diapering again. The viva towels are super soft, and you're not using cleaning chemicals.

We've used damp paper towels and triple paste that that has helped with diaper rash around here. Vaseline also helps too but for us, triple paste got rid of it quicker.

one of our boys got a sever diaper rash around 5 weeks....we used all kinds of over the counter creams, but none of them worked. we ended up getting Vusion from our doctor...it's VERY EXPENSIVE! but it works!!!! if you can get it through your insurance, do it....

I woman in my club swears by triple paste. http://www.triplepaste.com/ You can find it at BRU and Target.
The company is owned by a father of twins. She called and said how wonderful it was and wrote a testimonial and our club got samples.

Good luck and I hope he is better soon.

My daughter just had her first diaper rash and she is 16 months -- but EVERYONE I spoke to told me that they found "Cornstarch is the best" yes everyone said the exact same phrase. Now mind you I used a product they have here in Australia (sorry you can't get it there) and it worked but my other daughter is experiencing the same diarrhea bug that caused her twins diaper rash. I now have some cornstarch on stand-by all ready to go.

Everyone says it keeps them dry and allows the healing, unlike the wet ointments or creams.

We never did the air dry method, even with the worst rash they had. We tried Desitin and others, but found that the Aveeno cream worked best. It does take 2-3 days for everything to clear up, but it worked!

My son just got over a bad diaper rash. He had a bit of diarrhea and all of the wiping and the changing made his butt really raw. I took him out of pampers and put him in cloth diapers so that he could get some air. I also used Desitin paste and switched to pampers sensitive wipes. Ds diaper rash cleared up in about a week. Now that everything has cleared up and healed we use Cornstarch powder to keep him dry. I hope this helps!

I hold 2 tissues between the legs of my twin boys to catch any wayward 'surprises' and it tends to work most of the time.

To avoid diaper rash, I lather on the vaceline at every diaper change and so far, so good ;)
