Diaper Question

Target has diapers on clearance. I got 3 of the special value boxes (Size 1/2, 3, 4) of pampers for 15% off. I think they had about 130 to 150 diapers per box. I also got 2 boxes (Size 2) of Huggies for 30% off. With coupons, I saved about $35 total.

I am having 2 little girls in December. How many boxes do you think I should stock up with? DS is still in diapers, but i have never kept track!

It really depends on the kids. As newborns, mine went through 10-12 a day each. Now they go through about 7 a day each. I really stock up when I get them on sale. I currently have 8 - 92 count boxes of size 2's in the spare room because they were on sale. My kids don't seem to outgrow the sizes very fast though. We just moved into size 2's last week.

 

We went through a pack of preemie diapers a week as newborns. Once they were in newborn size we went through 8 diapers a day. In size one diapers we use 7 a day. (we are also using cloth diapers)

 

I know while we were still in the hospital, each baby got changed every 3 to 4 hours. Of course, sometimes the next diaper was dirty before you even got it totally put on. Since we've been home, we probably don't change either baby more than 4 times a day. I know I have more Size 1 diapers than we'll need, but I figure I can always return them for the next size. I usually buy a smaller package of diapers every time I go to the store. I have tons of coupons to use. It's going to be a loooong time before we're out of them, so I just figure get them cheap as long as possible. Most people probably change their babies more than we do, but we haven't had any trouble with rashes yet. My girls only poop every 5 days or so. That may help a little!!

 

at first, I used roughly 20 diapers a day, give or take. Not sure how many now, but probably between 12-15 a day.

Oh gosh, I think I have used around 600-700 NB diapers, 1000 size 1 diapers, 700 size 2 diapers, and around 100 size 3 diapers. Mine were 7.13 and 6.2 at birth and are probably 18/19 and 15/16 now.

 

[SIZE=10pt]It really depends on the kiddo. As newborns our two went through roughly 10 diapers each a day. Now as 13 month olds They are going through about 6-7 a day. Solid food definitely brings out the poopies B)

We went through about 12-18 dipes per baby per day in the newborn stage, when they ended up being changed before and after most feedings. Now they still go through 8-9 a day per baby, because they still get changed at every feeding.

I use cloth diapers, and only buy disposables for trips, and find I change those a little less often, because sometimes they don't feel wet even though they probably are.

 

Condisder cloth one size diapers... You only need about 25-30 for both kids. You will save money and the environment all in one shot! Plus Cloth diapers are SOOO Cute! I will say that we didn't use cloth in the newborn stage, but at about 2 months we started and I have never looked back! I actually feel guitly that i didn't use them on my daughter!
