Diaper cream

I just read a thread on TS that mentions putting baby down with diaper cream at night...when do I start this? My babies don't seem to need it...just wondering if I'm missing something.

 

I think it's totally up to you! Are you still changing diapers through the night? Once we stopped changing diapers at night is when we started the diaper cream. Mine go 12 hours without a diaper change so I load them up with "goo" as DH calls it, before bed. Full body lotion after bath, diaper cream and baby powder in the diaper.

 

I think that everyone does it differently. I personally don't put diaper cream on my babies butts if they don't have a rash.

 

hum never heard of this I don't use it unless they are bit red or if I see a spot..

 

We always put vaseline on them before bed as a barrier because they get red if we don't. They go about 13 hours without a diaper change over night.

 

I call it 'preventitive maintenance' while I put it on both the girls before bedtime. Although I suppose you don't have to use it unless they've got something to worry about. I'd just rather put a little on every night so I don't have to deal with it later, lol.

 

We've always just put it on at every changing no matter what - you can start it whenever you want - it certainly does not hurt! =)

 

We did it once the boys were sleeping through 10 hours. We use butt paste at night for the last diaper change. It's kind of a preventative thing I suppose. It's totally up to you whether you do/feel the need to do it.
