Diaper bags

I have been looking to buy a new diaper bag, because the one I used for my daugther I didn't really like that much, and the one I use now definitely won't hold the twins' stuff and my daugthers (she will be 17 months old when she is born).

Do any of you have the Skiphop diaper bags? Do you find they have plenty of room? I will need one that holds stuff for three kiddos, and they seem to be the biggest with the most compartments.

How much do you think is too much to spend on a diaper bag, too?

I think you will get alot of opinions on this one, everyone has different needs. I for one had/have a duffle bag style of diaper bag (its eddie bauer, and not sure its made any more). I can count on both hands the # of times my diaper bag has left the car! The only time we really used one was when we go out to eat or to the doctors office. Otherwise I always did/do bring a couple of diapers, wipes and thats about it when we go elsewhere. i know I can always go back the car if I need much more. I also bf so I didn't need to bring bottles/formula when out and about, so consider that too.

 

We have the Skip Hop Spark diaper bag from Target. It fits a lot and is about $30. I would recommend it for trips to the mall and such. For all day trips, you would probably need more storage space.

 

LOVE the skiphop duo double! I may purchase a spark for quick trips too. Lots of pockets and I love that the inside is a contrasting color so you can see inside.

 

We have a Duo Double and a regular Duo. I love them both.

I have the skip hop duo double deluxe. I only paid 48.00 for it but it would have been worth every penny if I'd have paid full price (80.00) It is roomy and tons of compartments (I need it for three kiddies too) It is made very well.

 

How did you pay less for it? Where did you get it? You all are making me feel so much better about spending the extra money on a diaper bag that is actually going to work.

 

I have the Skiphop bag and for now it has plenty of room for what we have. I really like it, it straps onto your stroller instead of having to carry and it is snug to the stroller instead of bumping off your legs. I don't know about for three kids, but it is roomy.

I would not spend a lot on a diaper bag as they wear out and if you won't use it again, I wouldn't spend more than 50.00.

I had bought mine through babyuniverse.com when they were having a weekend sale and got free shipping. Not on sale now but a few others are I think (different styles/colors)

 

I also paid half for mine. Skip Hop was having a half off sale last year around Christmas, so I bought it. But it would have been worth the full price!

 

LL Bean Backpack all the way. Got the SkipHop Duo Double and found it just too cumbersome. I love having my hands free! Good luck. . .

 

I love my skiphop double! I just got it and find it's so useful now that I have to carry around baby food. We go out almost every day and do a lot of all day trips. I wanted a bag that would fit 6 bottles and this was the only one that worked. I also got mine cheaper. The skiphop website has a clearance. Here is the link: clearance The color choices have changed since I ordered mine 2 weeks ago. If you don't like them, I'd check again in a week or two.

 

I finally got the SkipHop duo double and I really like it. I also got it on clearance. I wasn't sure I liked the color choices but I took a chance and it is super cute. Definitely holds more than my last bag and I manage to keep it much more organized!

It is so funny- I worried so much about my diaper bags for my first three kids. Now with the twins, I haven't even used one except the freebie we got in the hospital. I NEVER would have done that with the others! (I was a diaper bag snob! :lol: ) With my third I had a backpack style one and really liked it. I guess I don't bring that much b/c at this point I know exactly what I will need and don't overpack. And with five, I find I am too busy to care what it actually looks like.
