I was thinking about getting a big tote from Target that can double as a purse, but didn't know if I should buy an actual diaper bag. Has anyone just bought a tote and that worked out fine??

I used a big tote for my two youngest (not twins but 16 months apart). I got these packers in different colors to divide up their clothes, diapers, etc. I thought it worked better than the diaper bag I had and it kept everything organized. http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...n&cat4=2931

You'll be amazed at how much room you need w/ twins. Or maybe it was just me, but even after having 3 kids, I was just blown away by how much I ended up packing around to be ready for life w/ twins. I'd really recommend either a diaper bag or an oversized tote. But with a tote, you just might not have enough pockets for things. It's a major pain IMO to have everything just dumped in the bottom of a bag. You might try something from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6359131 She has a number of different styles and if you want something just a little different, convo her and she'll usually work with you. But you also get to choose the fabrics you want and she's great about helping you figure out something perfect. Oh, and great prices for what you get. The bags are very high quality, I love mine.

I got a Skip Hop bag because I need to be organized. It has a zillion pockets and I could bring 6 bottles with me. Now that the boys are older, I pack crayons and books as well as toys and snacks. It's great! One day ants got into it (and I'm talking a ton of ants) so I emptied it and drowned the ants in the bathtub. My bag looks good as new! I think it's the Skip Hop Double Duo. Well worth the $$$!

I knew a diaper bag was never going to really work for me, so I found a Hello Kitty back pack. Nothing ever stays on my shoulders so I knew I needed a back pack if I was going to carrying around babies. My husband has like fifty backpacks, so he picked one for him to use so we each have one when we go to church. The one he uses is a Dakine (sp?) and it has a ton of pockets inside and outside.

I got a little skip hop changing pad that has some pockets for wipes and diapers that I can take with my diaper bag and I love it! http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2756998

I just got the skip hop duo in black! I haven't got to use it yet, but looking forward to it. It is usually 79.99 for the double duo deluxe by skip hop.. if you go to diaperbags.com it is the 79.99 I believe but if you use the code SW-8937 you get 10.00 off of a 75.00 purchase, so it is 69.99 instead! Free shipping and no tax for me either. I just got mine about 1 weeks ago!

    Have a great day ladies!

One nice thing about a diaper bag is the bottle/cup holders. :good:

Well, now I want a skip hop too! If you go on skiphop.com they have the double duo in a couple of colors on clearance. I think they were 49.95.

I seriously considered the skip hop duo, but i found with DS, that because I nurse, and don't have to carry around all those bottles and formula, etc. that I only needed a smaller bag to carry a change of clothes, diapers, wipes, and burp cloths...obviously with twins, I'll need double that stuff, but it seems to me that the skip hop bag will be way too big for the type of outings we do and what I would need to bring...hence the reason I had my bag custom made (as in another post). I may find with twins that it is a whole different experience, and I can always go out and buy that bag if necessary...I just know that I got a SUPER DUPER cute big diaper bag for DS that I used all of twice...

For those of you who got the skip hop, did you get the Duo or the Double Duo? What is the difference between the two?

I'm planning on getting a skip hop duo too, although having a bit of a hard time finding somewhere to get it in Canada or one that ships to Canada that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for shipping (as usual UGH, drives me crazy). I checked diaperbags.com and I don't qualify for free shipping but with the discount it may be cheaper to try and buy there and see what their shipping is than finding it somewhere else. Thanks for the tip Charity! I can see it now, there's going to be a run on Skip Hops because of this thread LOL!

I have an almost 1 year old and have a SUPER cute diaper bag I bought for her and it's always full so I KNOW I'll need the double duo for sure!

    The Double Duo :good:
It is a lot larger & also has clips on either side that attach right to a double side by side stroller. I seriously LOVE that feature.
I didnt have a side-by-side when my girls were infants (we had a front/back), but got one when they were around 7 months old.

That bag literally fits everything I need & hold all of my things as well :)

I went through 2 different bags that I thought would work before caving in & buying the Skip Hop!

Ok! Thanks! I don't have a side by side but if it's bigger than I definitely will get the double duo.
