So Lily has it, and has had it since last Wednesday. I called the pedi on Thursday and they told me to remember BRAT.
    B ananas
    R ice
    A pplesauce
    T oast

To give her those solids only and nothing else. So I gave that to both babies for a couple of days and that made Amelia constipated, but Lily is still sick! If I feed her only rice cereal then she is fine, but as soon as I mix in anything else she gets diahrea again! Has anyone else had this happen, what did you do? I have to feed the poor child! Guess I'll call the pedi again tomorrow and maybe bring her in? She's acting fine though, she's happy and well hydrated. Unless she goes at the pedi's office what are they going to do? Examine her booty?

Anyone BTDT and have some advice?

I would call the pedi for sure. If it's been a few days and you can't introduce anything else, it's worth a call. :hug99:

No experience yet - just sending hugs. I would call the pedi too- just to be "safe".

I would call to be on the safe side but sounds as long as she is happy and active and hydrated there isnt much they can do for her. Have you stopped the formula??????? You probably need to do that. Good question for the doc. Pedialyte for hydration.I always used rice not rice cereal. Dont know if there is a diff or not. Are you using baby food banans or mashing bananas. There might be something in the baby food ones. Good luck

You can try a probiotic. Lactinex is one that I've used before. It's granules that you add to rice cereal or applesauce. It's OTC but you need to get it from the pharmacy as it needs to be kept refrigerated. Call your pedi to ask about the Lactinex and the formula like suggested above. I was told to dilute the formula to half strength last go around. And diarrhea caused by stomach viruses can last up to 10 days. When you call the pedi be sure to ask the nurse if there's a virus going around and how long you can expect it to last and if there's anything to watch for. Word to the wise, apple & pear juice can make diarrhea worse but (white) grape juice can help. Good luck. BDTD and it sucks.

I agree with pp's that you should call the pedi again. Is she teething? My girls have diarrhea and diaper rash when they are teething (more saliva production).

Also, I was on the BRAT diet when I got food poisoning while pregnant (talk about yuck...I can never ever ever eat a taco time chicken soft taco again). Totally worked!
