DH thinks our toddlers cry a lot more than normal

Our girls will be 2 at the end of October. Just last night, my DH commented on the fact that he thinks they cry more than he thinks they should. I just chalk it up to being toddlers who don't like to be told no and who fight often over the same toys which ends in one of them crying a lot of the time.

Do your 2 year olds cry a lot? Not cry because they are sad but cry because they are mad and/or not getting their own way?

Oh.My.Gosh. YESSSS!!!! I used to feel the same as your dh. I couldn't understand why mine (one more than the other for the most part) would cry alllll the time. I have to say now that they're 2, and communicating MUCH better, the crying/fits/tantrums/whining has improved dramatically.

My two have speech issues but they are definitely criers! Perfectly normal unfortunately!

Oh yes! Perfectly normal I say! My girls fight over toys all of the time and cry and whine. I try not to get involved so they learn to work it out themselves, but sometimes I just can't listen to it and intervene. I JUST asked my daycare provider if the whinnieness was normal for their age and she said oh yeah. I'm hoping it gets better once they learn to communicate with me more.

oh my goodness...I feel like we are alone with this sometimes! They seem to whine/cry ALL the time! I'm sure it's just the age.....good to know I'm not alone.

YES! I was driving home from the gym a couple of weeks ago and asked my two year olds, "Can we get through one day without tears?" The better question would have been "Can we get through one hour without tears?" I guess the constant crying is normal . . . it still gets on my nerves!

:D We used to have the same conversation. Don't forget you have two of everything, that includes the crying. Our house is still very loud do to screaming and crying. But we also hear a lot of giggles and laughter, the girls play for hours and are having so much fun. It gets better.

I found the crying and tantrums went down DRAMATICALLY once they could talk well, so hang in there
