    Hi, Everyone.
As some of you may know, my DH is in the Airforce and has been gone quite a bit since the twins have arrived. He was supposed to leave in January for 4 months, but we found out it was canceled right before Christmas. So, I was thrilled thinking that I had the best Christmas present ever, my husband home for a while. A couple of days a go, we found out that it canceled because they extended the deployment to one year. He will be leaving in May. It's going to be REALLY tough, especially for our older girls.

A few good things is that he'll be getting some extra pay, maybe enough to pay off most of the debt. We'll also get to choose where we go next, as long as there is an opening for him at the base. We want to go to England. We were in Germany for 3 years and loved Europe. Of course, it's really great for his career to deploy. My career is on hold anyway (I'm a Registered Nurse) because right now I want to be at home with the kiddos.

Well, I just wanted to share with you ladies what is going on because you've all been so supportive in the past. Thanks for being there.

Well that stinks! Deployments are no fun at all [IMG] My dh is considering joining the Army after getting out of the Marines next month and will be likely to deploy very soon after. [IMG]

Oh Nikki, I am sad for you. I hope that it all works out and you get to go where you would like though.

Let your DH know that I personally feel very indebted to him for his sacrifice for me and my family. Here's a hug, hun [IMG]

I am so very sorry for you. My DH is also in the military (Army) and he was deployed for 20 months to Iraq. I know just how you are feeling, and if I could I would give you a hug [IMG]. I will keep you in my prayers and hope this year will fly by for you and your family.

I am so sorry that he is leaving for a year! That sucks! I can't even imagine. My ex was in Iraq for a year and I met him right after he got back and then a year later he redeployed for a year. It was so hard to deal with it but I didn't have any kids to take care of too. Hopefully it goes by fast.

Nikki! [IMG] I'm so sorry he's going to go away for a YEAR!!! My dad had to do an un-accompanied to Korea but managed to get it done with before he met my Mom (at Ramstein, Germany)!

    Good luck!! [IMG]
