DH just took Ben to the ER

Just thought I'd see if anyone was awake. It's 3:45 am ADT (2:45 EDT). The boys both came down with fevers yesterday but Infant Tylenol seemed to be keeping it in check. Plus they were both eating fairly well. Well...Ben has pretty much been up since he went to bed. We couldn't get him to eat before bed although I did manage to get him to take 2 ounces at about 2am. Then he threw that all up. He just looks so horrible...that finally DH decided to take him. We also think he might be constipated.

It was hard to decide who should go and who should stay. As soon as morning arrives, I'll call my mom to come up. Hopefully Ben will be home by then, but if not, I'll be able to go right over.

So...since I can't sleep and I'm just stressing...I thought I'd see who was on here.

You poor thing. I am sure things will be ok. I am glad you guys decided to take him, its good to get things checked out if you are concerned. Big Hugs!

 

Thanks for the reply. DH is now on his way home. They think Ben has strep throat. I can't wait to see him...poor little guy.

Daniel isn't feeling very well this morning...so it looks likes there's another trip to the hospital in store for today.

Poor little guys! My ped told us that babies under 2 don't get strep???....hmmmm Either way- hope you all get some rest today!

I hope everything turned out okay!! Good thing to bring the poor guy in. It would be VERY unlikely for him to get strep throat this young. What made them think that? And wouldn't they just rapid culture it and tell you right there? Weird. Get out the Pedialyte and good luck!! I hate it when they get sick.

 

I hope both boys are feeling better and you get a chance to rest today.

Let us know how he is doing-I sure hope he feels better soon-it always seems like the middle of the night is worse for sick babies...and parents!

Yes, they did say that it's very unlikely in kids under 2 but that's what they thought it was. They took a culture and apparently we should have the results by the end of the day.

We just took Daniel to the doctor and his throat is super red too. Dh is out right now filling his prescription. Hopefully, Ben sleeps better tonight. We are all in desperate need of sleep.

Caryanne, I hope everyone is feeling better today and that you got some sleep. Lots of hugs to you and the boys!

 

Did you get the results? Did they sleep better? I certainly hope so.

 

:hug99: im so sorry your little guys feel so bad!!! It stinks when your babies arent feeling well!!! I hope they are feeling better today and recover quickly!

 

Ben is doing much better and slept through the night last night. Daniel is having a bit harder time and was up about 6 times last night. He is eating though so we're glad about that. He's already been up once since he went down for the night. So it looks like we might be in for another tough night with him.

The timing of this really sucks. DH and I are going away this weekend for 2 nights (for the first time since the boys were born) and my parents are supposed to keep the boys. We had just gotten Daniel to go to sleep on his own and he was only getting up once a night for a quick bottle. I just hope he's not up all the time over the weekend.
