My girls are 7 months but they were 32 weeks, so the corrected age is less. They are rolling over GREAT, both ways and LOVE playing on their belly! They are not sitting up on their own yet and it worries me. They also do NOT like to eat solids, I try daily, they still kinda push it out. Its hard because I feel like they should do more bc they are 7 months, even though they really arent. Any suggestions???

It sounds like that they are doing great. You have to factor in their adjusted age, so they are about 5 months adjusted right? Sitting up will come in it's own time. I would keep trying with the solids, right now most of their nutrition should be coming from formula or BM. Eventually they will take more of the solids at some point. You are doing a great job Momma!

I have heard many mommas on here describe what you are saying. Please remember that the guidelines as to the child's development are just meant as that-guidelines. I know people who compare their children to other children and I know you did not say that in your post that you do, but it is a very bad trap to get into.

With that they are adjusted to 5 months and most babies are not sitting by that time. Give them some time, maybe get a bumbo to help strengthen their back muscles. If you are still concerned after a while longer, contact your pedi and from there you can collectively come up with a game plan.

As far as the solids, I wouldn't give up but don't get too caught up. Really as long as they are getting formula (or bm) they are fine. Are they gaining weight and having the right amount of wet/poopy diapers? If so, then I am sure they will start eating them when they are ready.

    GL to you HTH

Mine were born at 32 weeks and one sat at 7 months and the other at 8 actual. Give them time. They will get there. As for solids you can always take a break for a couple of weeks or at least stop doing it daily. It's all about formula or BM intake right now so dont stress over it. Hang in there. I know what its like to want your preemie to catch up. It will happen.

My girls were born at 38weeks and just started sitting alone(for more than 10 seconds) this past week at 7mos old. It will come!!

My suggestion is to remember they are truly only FIVE months old. Perfectly normal even for a 7 month old to do what you are describing.

    They're fine :)

Take it from me.. it will all come in due time :)

8 weeks makes a HUGE difference in the life of a baby.. heck, even a day does! Remember that.

I agree with pp. Five months is early for most babies to be sitting up on their own. Just keep practicing with them. My LOs did not sit up on their own until they were crawling at 8 and 9.5 months old.

My babies were also born in their 32nd week. We were advised to start solids only at 6 months adjusted, so they've just started and haven't got the hang of it. As for sitting on their own, mine aren't there yet. They are reaching their milestones closer to their adjusted age rather than their actual.

Don't worry (I know it's hard), but they will get there. You're doing great!

I don't think my girls were sitting on their own at 7 months and mine were born at almost 37 weeks. Don't worry about it! They will hit their milestones when they are ready. Try to enjoy this time with them, it is precious, before you know it they will be running all over your house!

Don't worry! Our are 8 months and just started sitting up alone around 7 - 7 1/2 and one is rocking
on all 4's and the other is not interested at all. I TOTALLY compare to everyone else's kids. I can't
help it! And I compare to my singleton friends! I know it's stupid, but I can't help it. I'm always asking
friends, "so, uh, when did Emily start crawling?" When did Allen start saying momma, dada.
    I'm terrible.

And, the solids thing. Mine are only on one solid feeding a day. I see no need to rush. I'm going through
the vegetables a week at a time.

You are fine! The babies are fine! And this is coming from a super paranoid person.

My girls are 9.5 months actual, but were born at 32.5 weeks, so they are about 8 months adjusted. They didn't start sitting up until 8 months actual, and the solids was just becoming easier at 8 months too. I wouldn't worry--just keep practicing and they'll do it soon enough! I used to compare them to other babies (full term) when they were newborns but realized it just frustrated me, so once I just let that go, things got better for me...you are doing great and as long as your babies are growing and thriving, then all is well!

Yes, I do compare them to my friends singelton's. I have FOUR friends that had babies around the same time as me, so it is very hard not to compare when they tell me what they are doing, but I will try my best not to do it anymore! Thanks for all the advice and encouragment, it's nice to ask people who do have twins and understand.

No worries. Lots of babies haven't even started on solids at 5 months, and aren't yet sitting up at that age either. Keep practicing!
