Hi all, has anyone experienced major delays when shipping a car across the country? I’ve got a job relocation coming up and need my car on time — just wondering how common hold-ups are and how to avoid them.

Delays do happen, especially with long-distance shipments, but many of them are avoidable if you know what to look for. I recommend using a solid vehicle comparison platform like Compare The Carrier. Their vehicle transport comparison by CompareTheCarrier lays out multiple carrier timelines and clearly shows each provider’s on-time delivery history. That kind of visibility makes a huge difference when you’re on a schedule. Weather, traffic, and carrier overbooking are common causes of delay — but if you book with someone who already operates in your area and avoids high-traffic transfer points, the chances of a delay drop significantly. Another plus: they highlight which companies communicate well during transport, so you’re not left guessing if a delay does occur. It’s all about managing expectations and choosing the right partner upfront.
