my dd elena went through a little growth spurt a couple of weeks ago that lasted about a week and she was eating more often and about 6 oz per feeding. now for the past week, she is only taking 3 oz per feeding, which is less than what she was taking before the growth spurt. it seems to me like she's not eating enough, but she is sleeping more so maybe she's more concerned with sleeping than eating right now, is that normal for this age? she doesnt seem to be losing weight and is not acting different in any other ways.

Many people have talked about a period of increased sleep after a growth spurt, so that is not uncommon, mine never really did it - altho I wished they had! I would say to watch her food intake, it should go back up soon. If it doesn't I would be tempted to call your pedi.

While mine slept more they usually went back to the amount they were eating before the spurt. Look at her overall intake over a couple days- maybe she is making up for it at other feedings? If you are concerned though, definitely call your pedi for a weight check.

Mine usually sleep and eat more during a growth spurt and then return to less eating and sleeping afterward. I agree with the pp, maybe she's taking 3 ounces more frequently than she was taking 6?

Could be. It's probably normal. If you really get concerned at any point, please call the pedi. Amy.
