She used to all the time. She did not fall asleep as quickly as ds and of course would not sleep on the occasion there is a dirty diaper or something but she would still sleep. Now for the past month, no matter how tired she is, she will not. She is bigger than ds and we have ordered the convertible carseats to change over from the infant. She has not met the max height or weight yet but she is almost there. Could this be the reason? If not, what could it be? Anyone else have this problem.

The twins have never slept well in the car. My other kids did. I have no idea!

I wouldn't care so much, except that ds falls asleep in the car everytime. And well, we all know how much easier it is to have them on the same nap schedule. LOL

Sounds like your babies are just maturing at different rates. We all know how us women are oh soooo much more mature than our men. ;) My babies used to fall asleep in the car the moment we started the ignition, now it doesn't happen unless we drive around for a realllly LOOOONG time. The only thing you can do is try to stay away from long drives around naptime.

    Good luck!

Ok, we put the convertible in last night and DD did not sleep a wink in it today. I guess her days of napping in the car are over. Which is too bad because with all of their issues and appointments, it really helped when there are not enough hours in the day to get her in the crib for 2 good naps a day. Oh well.

Sorry to hear she is done with napping in the car. Eventually DS will stop too and you can get them back on the same schedule.

I don't think any of my kids slept in the car after 2-3 months of age. Last weekend we went to Colorado and the twins managed to keep their eyes open for 8 hours. My oldest has a record of 19 hours during / after flying to Europe (I even couldn't keep my eyes open). They'll fight and fight, they're not necessarily fussy, but just won't close their eyes, it's pretty amazing. They sleep really well in their crib, and that's where they are 99% of the time so I guess that's what matters.

I guess that really means you need to put them on a nap schedule in order to have a good day and not get them overtired. My twins nap at 9 am and 1 pm and I always schedule appointments around 11 am, and/or after 3.30 pm ...

I would love to have them on a nap schedule but their wake time varies everyday, even during times when we are home for a few days in a row, so it is hard. Also, dd has been waking up once during the night for the past few weeks or so, so that I am sure does not help with any of this. I see to try to schedule appointments for 11is also. I guess once ds is done with sleeping in the car, I can schedule them for late in the day too.
