This may be a silly question, but do/did any of your lo's stare off into space? My DD has been doing this with more and more frequency lately. She stares at nothing for a few seconds up to a minute and you cannot get her attention. You can call her name or make noise and nothing. I know that some infant seizures are like this and I am worried about it. Her sister has never done it. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but there is a history of seizures in the family.

Mine does too...I don't know anything about infant seizures...but she will be lost somewhere, but more often than not we can get her attention by calling her name. this probably doesn't help, but just wanted to say mine does too.

Our LO's have never really done that. Maybe for a couple of seconds when they are drowsy, but that is about it. I would definitely check with your doctor and see what they say.

One of my DD did that.

She has/had sensory troubles as well and did OT for it. She would look away and 'stare' at things when overstimulated or tired. Also she had a questionable hearing test (retested was ok). She still does this at age 5---it was determined to be a 'sensory overload' sign for her!

Have you checked her hearing? It is happening at certain times??

Talk to your Pedi if it continues and they can explore it further.
