DD came down with a rash yesterday on her face. Later in the day I noticed it on the palms of her hands & the bottoms of her feet. She woke up this morning & it's spread on her face and she keeps complaining that her feet hurt. No fever & can't think of anything she ate that she hasn't had before.

I called the dr to see if she could have Benadryl, but they want me to bring her in. Any idea what it could be, or am I making a trip to the dr just for poison oak??

Sounds like hand, foot and mouth disease. Any fever?

Did she have a fever anytime in the last week? It sounds like hand, foot, and mouth disease to me. Both of my DD's and myself are suffering with it right now!

The other day she felt warm to me, but we were camping so I didn't take her temp. When I took it this morning, it was actually low; 96.9 and 97.1

The rash comes after the fever breaks (at least it did for my kiddos). Check if they have any in their mouth, this is mostly what my DD's have and they have been quite miserable with them.

Well, the dr thought it was hand foot & mouth at first.....but then looked in her mouth/throat & it was fine. They told me it's some kind of virus, just really unusual that it's on her hands.

I went ahead & called them back this morning, since she now has a new 2nd rash....just red splotches & lines that will appear then disappear. I know they can't do anything for a virus, I just thought they should know about the change. Oh, and the 1st rash has spread up her legs & arms, too. But only the blotchie things on her torso.

When Abbie gets sick she gets a red splotchy rash like that too, it just comes and goes. It really freaked me out the 1st time it happened! I was also going to say hand/foot & mouth, but since your dr ruled it out. For us that one was more like little pimples instead of an actual rash.
