Ds loves his food and will eat a lot usually. DD just clamps her mouth shut and blows raspberries. Once in a while she will let me sneak some in. They are almost eight months, what do I do?

No worries. They don't NEED it right now. DD went on a solids strike from ages 7 months - 10 months. I tried once a week until she was back on the program. They need the milk/formula. DD started solids at 6 months and took to it just fine.

We just had our 9 month well baby check and I asked the DR this exactly! She said " follow the babies lead they know what they need. As long as shes drinking her milk, Im not worried".
She told me if I got too concerned I could bring her back in for a weight check but it didnt bother her in the least. My DD wants to eat, she was just ready fore more finger foods and less of me feeding her. that was her way of telling me what she thought LOL :)

I agree with the PPs, just keep trying and she will come around.

My DD is the same (she´s coming up to 7 months). Our pedi told us to persist everyday, which surprised me. We dont force the issue: we sit her in her chair and give her a toy. We put some fruit puree on her lips to start with then once she´s tasted it, in goes a small spoonful. She spits it back out and we put it back in. Today she willingly ate 2 teaspoons and that was good enough for me. I dont do it to the point of crying. Sometimes she does and I have to go in and stop the lady who helps me. We do the same routine for the veg puree in the afternoon and try and vary the tastes every couple of days. Bit by bit she´s coming round. When I feed her, I let her take the lead. I figure she´ll eat when she´s ready. :)

I agree with pp's. She will eat solids when she is ready. Right now most the nutrition is going to come from BM or formula. I understand it can be frustrating but she will come around. Hang in there, Momma!

Ditto pps! As long as she's getting enough breastmilk/formula, that's all that matters. Some babies just take a lot longer to warm up to it. Mine were still just barely picking at food around 8-9 mo adjusted age, and you should see the quantities they eat now!
