 I just picked up my boys at daycare and the director/owner announced to me they were closing. Their last day will be NOVEMBER 30th. Is she kidding? I literally have FOUR DAYS to find new daycare for twin infant boys!! Whatever happened to advanced notice? Next week is Thanksgiving, so no centers will be open Thursday and Friday. I'm sure I also have to come up with enrollment fees, etc now AGAIN. I find it very irritating that in the contract I signed I would have to give her like two weeks notice for them to leave, but she gives me four business days? That's not enough time to find a center without a HUGE waiting list. I just have no idea what I'm going to do!! :80:

I am in the Bentonville, AR area so if anyone knows anyplace good, give me a shout.

OMG! That is terrible! I have no advice, just some hugs for you mama. :(

If you lived close to me, I would totally offer to watch them for you until you could find something.

Oh my...that's terrible! I can't believe they didn't give any notice. My girls are in daycare (and we wait listed for 9 months!), so I understand your pain. I wish you were local so I could suggest some places. Good luck, and keep us posted! I hope you find something quickly.

I agree with you that - it's very short notice.......but I'm just playing devil's advocate..........what if she's closing due to sudden unforseen issues like the economy. I can't imagine her knowing for sometime that they are closing and just chosing to wait to tell parents.
Nevertheless, this really sucks. I hope you are able to find an affordable day care soon.

They should offer you some compensation of some sorts. That is so frustrating! Do you have any family or friends that you could pay to watch them until you found something?

Oh no . Craigslist usually has good ads for sitters/nannies if you are not able to find a daycare right away. GL.

I went here because I have been looking for day cares for my boys in fayetteville. So, I put your town in. I hope this helps. We just moved to AR so, I don't know much about anything else.

    Wow, that's terrible notice!

Are there any employees there who will be out of work who would be interested in becoming a nanny? I loved having a nanny in our home in those first 2 years, much less chaotic.

I had a daycare do this to me a couple of years ago when dd1 was about 2. The daycare provider had colon cancer and she passed away so they closed down the daycare for good. It was run by her and her daughter. It was very hard to deal with her death but also finding a new daycare on top of that. Good luck in your search!

I hope you find a good situation for daycare soon. Someone else mentioned what I thought concerning the economy. . . Did the director tell you why the daycare was closing?

OMG!!! That is so terrible. I would think they would at least offer to give you back your enrollment fees. I wish there was something I could tell you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you will find a good daycare quickly!

Thanks to everyone for the support. :grouphug: Sorry it has taken so long to respond. Sometimes with twins I'm like "where did the week go??"

The daycare director simply said she couldn't "afford" it anymore and had overwhelming creditors. I completely understand that she had to close, but the short notice was crazy! If she had "overwhelming creditors" then it the decision didn't happen overnight and she could have given more notice.

On a happy note.....we found a great daycare right next to my job!! It was a school for children with disabilities previously and they had moved to a bigger facility. I thought it was empty. One of the ladies at the prior daycare had said I should check it out b/c she was interviewing there. They are FANTASTIC and Aidan and Ethan are so happy there.

We prayed so hard when we got the news and Praise God, he sure works fast!!

Thanks again to every for your support and comments.
