I'm still new to this daycare thing, I've been a stay at home mom for the past 7 years up until the last 3 months.

    My questions are

Our daughters bangs are getting longer (we are trying to let them grow out :D ) and I send her to day care with bows or barettes they end up coming out and we "might" get them back and we might not, and her bows are getting dirty in the process  Anyone have a solution to this or at least a cheaper option????

Also I write their names on their sippy's with a marker (seems like daily <_< ) Cause they will not let you put them in the fridge without a name, Any Idea's to make the names a little more permanent????

These are two things that drive me crazy  And I thought some of you smart gals might have a tip or solution for me :icon_biggrin:

    Thanks,
    Cablegirl

You can try tape and writing the name on that--or a good permanant marker.

For the hair, I would use rubberbands to tie it back. Barettes can be a choking hazzard.

Paint pens (found in craft stores I think) work longer than perm marker, and some parents use that stick on label tape. It works with a label machine I think - I'l ltry to find out. Ditto on the rubberbands. Cheaper, too, I think, which is a bonus.

We used the sharpies to mark our things at daycare.

And I bought the small ponytail elastics for Meghan.

Definately the little elastics, or if they have hair that tends to be thicker, try the rubberbands that they keep in the "ethnic hair goods section". Those are toddler proof here!
What about a label maker? Or even address labels with some shipping tape over them.

For sippies, we used a Sharpie and re-wrote as necessary after washing. Each girl had her own color, so all we had to do was trace over the faded name.

What worked best on their hair was making a little ponytail on top with the Ouchless tiny elastic bands made by Goody. When they got a little older (closer to 3), I'd thread a ribbon through the elastic and then tie it into a bow.

I would go with a rubber band on the hair. My girls go with bows but we haven't had any trouble with loosing one.

They label their cups with permanant ink but I have seen rubber things like the lance armstrong bracelets that you can have made with their names on it and they are machine washable

For her hair I agree with pp's-look for some little elastics, or if she won't wear those maybe you can find some cheaper barettes/bows?

As for naming the cups if a permanent waterproof pen isn't working maybe stick on labels? This website has lots of different ones (look under personalised stickers, the vinyl ones should be waterproof).

It sounds like you're thinking of Bumpy Name labels. They're very cute and would certainly not wash off.
