I spoke with the director at the daycare where my sons will go. They are not keen on waking one baby when the other wakes. Has anyone had this issue? Most of the time Henry can sleep about 20 mins longer than Jacob which is fine because Henry stays up for a shorter period than Jacob so I can put them down again at the same time. However, if Jacob sleeps longer, their naps can be off by as much as an hour. Has anyone dealt with this? Can you give me some advice? I like them on the same schedule because it makes life easier for me.

Have you explained to the daycare what you said here? That it's fine for Henry to sleep a little longer but if Jacob sleeps for longer it can mess up the schedule for the rest of the day?
Honestly I think a good daycare should be willing to work with you and your schedule/wishes. Obviously they can't accommodate everything that everyone wants but yours doesn't seem like an unreasonable or unworkable request. If I were you I'd try talking to them again and explain why it matters to you. If they're really not willing to work with you, and this is the daycare you want in every other respect, then I guess you just have to put up with it. As your boys get older and start taking fewer naps you'll probably be able to get them on a more solid schedule anyway, then it won't be as much of an issue.

    Good luck!

My MIL hated that we woke one up! The daycare never said anything to us but I'm sure they hated it too. However, they are our kids and we are paying them to take care of them! They need to do what you ask them or else I would find someplace else. Its not harming your babies by waking them therefore its a reasonable request!

Never had a problem with it but my girls didn't go to daycare till almost 2. I had a rule they couldn't sleep past 2 and that was some times a problem. Stick to your guns. We all need our sleep

Their issue is that they don't believe the boys will go down at the same time therefore they think one will be asleep 10 mins when the other wakes up and they don't want to wake. I told my husband that since I have a week when they will be in daycare and I will be off, I am going in and training them how to take care of my boys. It was easier when my older son started because he was 9 months old and had a solid schedule. These two nap 3 times a day but when they nap is iffy.

They are so young that I would think they will still have many days when they won't nap at the same time. I would let them know that those kind of days are okay, but if it occurs every day it causes a big problem for you. My boys weren't on a steady nap schedule until 4 months. You may need to be a little more lenient now than in 2 months.

I don't think it's that big of a deal if they nap at different times. They need their sleep, unless they are napping for too long and it interferes with the next nap or bedtime. Mine often nap at different times and they always end up coming together at the same time for dinner and bedtime. Maybe see how it goes and address it if their napping at daycare is messing up your evenings.

I can completely understand wanting to wake them up at the same time and keep them on the same schedule. I would insist on your wishes being kept if that is what you want. Let them know that a little deviation is okay, but much more than your quoted amount of time is not okay.
