Our daughter voluntarily hangs her tongue out, and her ped tells me that she should outgrow it. Other than wait, is there anything that can be done?

Maybe remind her nicely to put her lips together/close your mouth/put your tongue back in your mouth/etc.

She's pretty young, I'd probably try not to bring much attention to it and just watch her as she gets older to make sure she outgrows it. :)

My one don did that for a while and we just kept touching the tip of his tongue and gently pushing it back in. He eventually quit.

My DD's sticks her tongue out and up when she's happy as I'm carrying her around. I think it's really cute! I guess it's not the same as hanging out but I'm not worried about it. I agree with PP; just tuck it back in...she'll outgrow it!

is she teething ? My daughter did that when she was getting her molars. She stopped letting it hang out but she does put it out every once in awhile. My daughter may have "low tone" to her muscles and the tongue thing is a common.
