Little Caleb now has a big bump in his head. I was reading to the girls tonight and went to set their books above my head on the shelf. I heard DH yell, "it's going to fall!" but before I could do anything, the darn things fell right on his head as I was nursing him. Oh my poor baby boy just cried his heart out. He seems ok, no symptoms of a true injury other than the bump, but now I'm just so sick to my stomach over hurting him and that pitiful cry. I definitely get the bad mommy award for the night!
 Don't be so hard on yourself! I know all 3 of my boys have had items dropped on their heads while nursing. It's a "job" hazard!
so sorry!! my ds fell off the bed twice on "my watch"... sometimes it just can't be helped... poor little guy, its just heartbreaking isn't it? Big hugs to you both!
Don't beat yourself up! One time I dropped a bottle on DD's head and another time she fell off the bed when I turned away for 10 seconds. It happens to all of us! You are not a bad mommy!
Awwww  Don't worry, you're not a bad mom! Sometimes you got to get through the worst to get to the best!
(((HUGS))) i get the bad mommy award this week too. I didn't tie my baby girl in her bouncy, got distracted, turned around for a second and heard a big boom...smacked her head on the floor and got a bruise. It hurts me so much QUOTE(Callen @ Mar 15 2009, 09:59 AM) I am so sorry. Hope you both are feeling better today.
Accidents happen and I can tell you this won't be the first. My boys get so many bumps and bruises you would think they were abused! katie gets a bump here and there but nothing like the boys did! Don't be hard on yourself, it happens!
Hugs to you! Poor bug. It was just an accident but I remember the first time DS hit his head hard when I was running to get DD. I felt horribly but these mama's here made me feel better that stuff happens and he was fine after a few minutes and I was tramatized for days!
I still remember the first time we had an accident with our older daughter. (She rolled off the bed while I was reaching for a diaper to change her!) I felt terrible for days. Then I realized that accidents happen and we are doing the best that we can. Your little ones know you love them and they don't blame mommy and daddy for anything! Don't be too hard on yourself. I hope everyone is feeling better today.
My dd rolled out of her boppy chair and hit her head on the metal rails of her sister's boppy chair. I was changing her sister when it happened and didn't strap her in. She screamed and it scared the heck out of me. I felt awful!!! She was over it though before I was. Don't feel bad - these things happen.
He seems to be healed today, the bump is gone and now it's just a bruise. Now the twins are sick and he's been VERY fussy all day, so I'm wondering if he has a headache or if he's getting sick too. Not a good day, but thanks for all the encouragement!

I'm glad to hear the bump is gone, sorry about the sickies. I hope it's a quick passing thing for you all.
 I'm sorry you had that experience! It always breaks our hearts when our babies get hurt, but to know we are the cause, it's even worse. The other day I was going out the door and was in a hurry. I reached out to grab my 2 year old so he didn't fall off the stoop. Well, I misjudged my grasp (because I was hurrying), and I knocked him off instead of catching him. And he fell 2 feet onto the concrete sidewalk landing on his head with a thump! Uugh, those awful mom moments are the worst!
