Yesterday morning, after I dropped them off at daycare, the owner comes running outside to tell me something. Which is so weird, because she's never done this before. She's holding up a paper, and says, "I asked Alice just now who did this paper, and she said 'the babies'. I then asked her which one, and she looked at the name and said 'Owen'. This paper is 3 weeks old! It's amazing that she remembered, or maybe she read the name?" (she does know the letter "O" and Owen starts with the "O" sound, so I'm thinking either she remembered or associated teh O with Owen)

Then last night, I got home from work and was quite sick. I didn't really talk to them when I first got home, just laid down, and got up right before their bed time. She asked me, "Do you want some water? I want you to feel better."

Smart as a whip! And so sweet, too. It's so awesome when they try to take care of you when you're sick.

Lily always amazes me. About a month ago I slipped up and said "Oh damn it" when I dropped something in the kitchen. My first swear in front of our little parrot. Well since then she has used the phrase in the correct context three times. She hasn't said it any other time, just when she dropped her milk or a toy. DH shoots me a look every time. What can I say, every parent slips, and girls just seem to have memories like steel traps. The funny part though is when she uses it in context and I have to control myself so I don't laugh. We don't react and hope she forgets it soon.
