They have taken polyvisol since birth. We stopped from 6 months. But I still give them on and off. They hate it. It tastes gross though. Do you know anything tastes better and the kids can accept lol? I was thinking gummy bear vitamin but I don't know if they are too young for it? I will ask their Pedi at 12 month check up. Tia!

Most vitamins they have to be 2 years ore older, Some are even older that that. Were given the vi sol drops when they boys were in the nicu and even then they spit them right put. I tasted it and almost threw up so I tossed them in the trash. Maybe the dr can give you a better idea?

My dr recommended Trivisol...it smells like Smarties candy and taste pretty good. I bought Polyvisol once because they were out of Trivisol, and it sits in the cupboard because they absolutely hate it! I tried it, it is nasty...so I don't blame them. I would ask your Dr about Trivisol and try that... they get excited when they see the dropper with Trivisol. Good Luck!

We did not start vitamins until our two were 1 year old, we had to do poly vi sol with iron because both kids were low on iron at their 12 month visit. I started gummy vitamins for DS at 2 (those are the only ones he likes) and DD started on Flintstones vitamins at age 2.

My preemies were on polyvisol with iron, but between that and the iron in the Neosure formula, they were super constipated, so we stopped giving them the polyvisol for now. Think we'll try the trivisol.

I'm really bad with vitamins. Gummy vitamins are not for children under the age of two, so I definitely would stay away from those. Annabella still gets the drops. When she turns two, I will switch her to the gummy type. The boys get that and they love it.

I would ask the pedi and he/she will probably give some type of drops.
