My DH took our oldest for a haircut today and had the boys with him, i asked my hairdresser if she could just trim their hair and make sure they still have curls....they came home with big boy hair!!! i cried, and when i think about it i get more upset. Is this normal or am i overreacting slightly!!! I added pics below, it doesn't seem that drastic!! but it is still a big difference.

I can understand being sad -- especially because it was done without your permission and you weren't ready for it. But remember it will grow back -- so next time you can decide when or whether to cut off the curls. :hug99:

I can understand you being upset because it isn't what you expected. But, your boys look adorable!! I love the cuts! It will grow back but maybe you'll get to love their new cuts. :)

I have an awesome stylist and she did put each boys hair in an envelope with their names and dates and signed it for me!!! Thank you for the positive responses, i feel like a dork overreacting but they are my babies and it was a shock.

DH wanted to get DS's 1st haircut so bad at Disney World (you get a certificate, 1st haircut Mickey ears hat and his hair wrapped up with pixie dust and sealed with a Mickey sticker) this past April, I was hesitant about it. We finally bit the bullet and I told the lady, I want him to still look like a baby, just get a few of the long ends mostly from the top part of his head, so that they don't go into his eyes so much. He was only 7 months old and it was Easter Sunday. He is now 10 1/2 months and already needs another haircut.

My husband keeps threatening to do it. Our son has yet to have a hair cut. It needs it. But, the curls (what is with the boys and curls) are just so adorable! My daughter has straight hair (like me). We'll do it after their 2nd birthday.

Hair does grow back and your two look adorable (before & after!) Glad to hear you got a lock of their hair!

I would brain my dh if he took it upon himself to get the girls' hair cut, but.....your boys look adorable! At least she didn't cut very much & it will grow back fast! What a couple of cuties!

The curls were beautiful and I understand you being upset since you were not prepared for this. But, they are adorable babies.

    Your boys are so cute!

I guess I would've been a bit taken away too. I'm not sure how they cut your boys' hair but the last time we went, they buzzed my boys' hair so there was no way to save any curls. It doesn't seem like that long ago and they already need another cut.

I would be sad too :( I still can't cut Andrew's very short! I just want him to be a little boy forever!

I'm ambivalent. Wesley needs a bit of a trim, as he's getting some little wispy curls behind the ears now. They're cute though, and as soon as he gets that cut, he goes from being a baby to being a big boy.

    Awww....they are still adorable though!!

It's hard! I cried like a baby when I got Gabe's hair cut the first time. Heck, he was 2..it was a long time coming in and he had some curls at the back.

Now, I use the clippers on him myself. The first time's hard...it's like a transition from babyhood to being big boys!

I would be sad as well and DH and I probably would have exchanged a few not so nice words!

But I do have to say they look very handsome!

what little cuties, im always hesitant about getting their hair cut, especially my little girl, the boys suit longer hair but in the summer its not fair so i give in.
Aubrie hasnt had a haircut since she was born, she's had a trim or two but she was born with almost no hair so now she finally has some we are keeping it and letting it grow for a while.

this is brie when she was little, here.
    and now, here.

she's got a full head of curly hair now, its beautiful.
