Cute and funky girls clothes?

Where do you buy cute and/or funky girls clothes? I'm a very basic shopper but want to branch out for my girls. Our new city is pretty hippie-chic and the functional Baby Gap and Childrens Place clothes I've been buying just don't cut it here. So where to look for cute skirts to go with leggings? Long sleeve funky printed tshirts? I don't want to spend a fortune, but I'd like to find some unique clothes that will withstand a full season of wear.

    Thanks!

I'm certainly not an expert in the girls' clothing department, but maybe etsy.com? Lots of cute handmade/ hand-decorated kids' clothes!

I love the seller Laken & Lila on Etsy -- Nadia has three of her skirts (which fit Karina also, believe it or not), and I pair them with funky tights and plain long-sleeved T-shirts, maybe topped with a denim vest.

Mini Boden is great, but only for some of their pieces -- once in awhile I find something that really appeals to me. Some of the tops are really cute.

Same with C.W.D. Kids. I like some of the Anita G and Flap Happy dresses paired with leggings.

I buy some Matilda Jane pieces -- love their skirts and knot dresses, which I also pair with plain long-sleeved T's. I think you have to buy through a local "trunk keeper" though (I have an acquaintance here who does shows).

    Same with Leila & Grey.

I can keep going...but that's somewhere to start.

I love Hanna Andersson...especially when they have sells and their clearance section. They have some super cute stuff to go with leggings and if you catch their sells you can get some really great buys.

You can get some funky stuff from the links the pp's provided and then pair it with tights and leggings from my more 'traditional' places. Osh Kosh and Carters have some really cute patterned tights. Or even target for leggings.

Or maybe just let your girls pick out their own combos- mine come up with some very 'funky' outfits

Hanna Andersson defintely would fit the bill! Stuff generally holds up very well so might try Craigslist or local consignment shops for used.

here is one of my favorite etsy.com sellers, i've become an etsy addict and with the right search, you can find whatever you want or ask for it to be custom made. love it!

Okay so either I'm cheap or I need to go into business for myself. :)
I just looked at Etsy.com, and everything there has patterns, and well fabric is right around the corner at the fabric store...

Needless to say I just e-mailed that site to my mom and asked her to make some stuff for me! LOL I'd do it myself but with 3 under 3, there's just no time left in the day. She already makes tons of clothes for the twins anyways...

Hannah Anderson just seems way overpriced for the amount of use they get at this age. Maybe once they get older... CP, Target, penney's all work wonders for me, and it looks to me like they have most of the same clothing styles.

I was also going to say Hanna Andersson. They have twice-yearly clearance sales, that's when I buy. The Children's Place has some funky stuff too. Might want to check Mini Boden also, although that's a bit expensive. Keep an eye out for stuff at fairs too, I got the girls some cute tie-dyed shirts at a local fair.

It's true that I often look at Etsy and wish I were better at sewing! Some of those skirts and dresses are just not that complicated, and I would love to put together my own fabrics. But, I just don't have the time, either.

I do love Hanna, though. It is expensive, but their daydress/playdress sets are just so cute and practical (although not terribly hip), and ours have lasted through two kids, and are still in good enough shape to sell.

ok, i am waaaaay cheap and i could only dream of buying from here, but i LOVE these clothes!! i love the super layered, colorful look that this gal puts together...

if you (or someone you know--sounds like an injury lawyer commercial LOL) can sew, just take the ideas and run with it--or find separate pieces to build a similar look. she also sells patterns for some of her stuff
