I was having a discussion with a friend and it prompted this survey regarding kids' eating habits. Just curious what everyone else does.

My vote is the second option, my friend is the fourth option. She couldn't believe I'd give curry to 16-month olds and was even more shocked that they ate it.

    I voted quote:
the spicy food -- they'll love it!

I only make one meal - my kids eat what we eat very early. When I make something like curry, I will often make it a little milder for the kids. They love curry.

They also love horseradish & I believe it is in part because we expose them to it early & often.

I would probably make a less spicy version of the same thing, same ingredients just put them in a different pan and add less spices. I've known lots of children who liked spices in their food. When I was working in daycare all the kids loved the mild curry.

fed curry in a split pea soup to my 9month olds. now Alexis likes spicy, Rachel doesn't. so she eats whatever is the non-spicy compliments to the spicy meal or does without. I'm not going to cook 2 meals. If I'm feeling soft and merciful, I will give them some peanut butter on bread to finish out the meal.

I didn't vote because my answer doesn't quite fit. We don't eat a lot of spicy foods, but when we do make something, we usually go ahead and let them try the spicy food. If they like it great, if not, I'll find something else for them. I usually have some emergency food for them that I can pull out. Bea tends to like spicy more that Ainsley.

I usually make two meals anyway. My kids don't eat anything but chicken, pasta, and corn. I fix just about the same meal each night for them. I try to get them to eat different things but they just throw a fit and dump it on the floor.

I voted a taste along with other food they like. But the other food is usually just extra of what ever side we are having.

Today we went out for lunch to On the Border, and the salsa was in Sydney's reach. So she dipped her chip right in. The waiter was like I'll be right back with water since the salsa is very spicy, but Sydney did not care and ate it all up.
