Hi everyone, I have 2 month old b/g twins.

For some reason right before and when my little girl poops she gets hysterical crying. Nothing we do can console her. She's not constipated and her poop is not hard, I can't figure out why she does this... Pedi say she's fine and some babies just do that. Anyone else have a baby who does this?

After the poop is done she's happy as a lark [IMG]

If the cry is like a Sudden, shrill, and piercing cry, followed by long pause, then another long screech, your baby may be experiencing pain or discomfort.

Nope, it's just loud crying as though she's super hungry. She's done it since day one. We used to think she was hungry when she was doing it but then she would refuse the bottle. When she always had a poopy diaper after one of these episodes we put two and two together. Now I just hold her until it's over but it makes me feel really bad. I just wish there was something I could do for her [IMG]

We asked the pediatrician about it and he examined her and said she was fine... hopefully it's something she'll grow out of.

My son does that it we figured out that he HATES to have his diaper on when he is trying to poop. He is straining, and it is just easier for him to open his diaper (obviously still hold it lightly there) so it wasn't right on his skin.

One of my little guys used to do this too. He has since grown out of it unless he is constipated. However, the crying has now been replaced by a honking sound. [IMG] At least we know when they are pooping so we can change them quickly so they are not sitting in it! [IMG]

I was thinking maybe she doesn't like the feel of the poo touching her bum, you could try opening her diaper when she poops and see what happens. I'd rather have a baby that doesn't like to be wet/poopy than one that doesn't care. It's harder to potty train a kid that doesn't care.

    That's too cute!! [IMG]

Thanks everyone, I'll try opening her diaper for her the next time it happens. Otherwise I guess I'll just have to wait till she grows out of it.
