OK it started yesterday, Chloe would scream and cry if you try and put her into the highchair, so one time I said, alright you're not hungry dont eat, and i put her down and she's holding on to my leg screaming and crying (!) Once this set Ashley off too.... Then another time I got fed up so put her in her chair and she cried for 10 minutes whilst sitting in her chair. After we moved on to the 'next' activity, Chloe is fine. I know she is teething at the moment but this is driving me crazy...

    Any suggestions? TIA!

My only suggestion is repeating the mantra "this too shall pass" to yourself as you take lots of deep breaths and remain as outwardly unaffected by the tantrum as possible :)

I think this is just the very beginning of those glorious "terrible twos" we hear about. In general it seems to be an issue of frustration and lack of control that seems to set my girls off. I really try to forgive and forget as quickly as possible while trying to figure out what the cause was so to hopefully help avoid the situation next time. Distraction seems to help a lot.

Thanks Monika, I wonder if they will do this when we are out as previously they've been really good when we go out to eat... oh well lets see how the rest of today pans out. ....

my boys are 18 months and they have started to do this. but is is at various times in the day. i have noticed that their bottom molars are coming in and they have the HUGE swolen mountains right now. To be honest, I will start to feed Grant (he's the one that gets REALLY mad right now) in my lap and then put him in his high chair. i might regret it later but it keeps me sane. after his teeth are in i will be a little meaner. :)
