    Hi all,

    Hope were all well..

One of my little girls screams out in her sleep. Anyone have any ideas? She has done it a few times recently and each time i have jumped up expecting her to go into one but she has just settled herself down and stayed sleeping. She does have acid reflux, i'm not sure if this is the culprit?

Yes, that happened in this house quite a bit and on occasion still does.

DS went through about a month of doing that. It was crazy - but if I went to try to comfort him, it would wake him up startled and he'd go nuts. I asked the pedi and they said maybe it was some early form of night terrors and that the best thing was to leave him to see if he resettled since really he was never awake. As soon as I stopped rushing in, he stayed asleep through it! It's tough not to want to rescue them when you hear that little scream. Hope it passes soon!

Yes it is very weird, to hear her you would swear she was awake but to look at her she is sock on?!?!? Poor babba... i will hold of settling her then and just hope this period doesn't last long. At least she is none the wiser seeing as though she doesn't wake up.
    Thanx so much for replying!!

My son does that every once in a while, he will cry out in his sleep and we go into check and he's still asleep. Sometimes I think it's a bad dream but he does not even wake up. You are doing the right thing, Momma! Hopefully it's just a phase she's going through!

One of my girls has done that from an early age. As long as she isn't awake I'd let her stay in bed and asleep.

DD does this occasionally. She did it a lot when she was younger. It took awhile to just realize we need to peek in and let her be for a minute to see if she was really still asleep. She has a very high pitched scream so it makes you jump!! ;)

Yes, it happens in our house also. DS does it, not DD. Sometimes he will wake and cry a lot but I can calm him no problem. The pedi said it´s separation anxiety but I´m not sure it is. It´s getting better so I imagine it´s just a phase.
