So making the boys lunch. PB&J...yep 3 days in a row. Heck the LOVE it. It is quick and it is easy....was cutting off the crust and was wondering if that is necessary. If I start cutting the crust off now, will that have to be something I do for the next few years b/c they will end up not wanting it later? Should I just leave it on? What do you guys do? Crust on? Crust off? Dianna
I cut it off, only because Sophie wont eat crust so I just do the same for the babies-totally creating a bad habit-darn it!
I keep it on because I did not want them to get into the habit of freaking out(not to say kids will) if they have crust on their sandwich(say we go somewhere else for lunch). It really doesn't matter now anyways...I am looking at their mangled mess of a PBJ right now. They take the halves apart, eat a little, and the rest is thrown to the dog! Seriously!
Mine don't like PB&J (don't ask me what's wrong with my kids, how they don't like it is beyond me!) but they do love their grilled cheese and I leave the crust on.

On! I try not to start anything I don't want to continue doing for the next twelve years, and I have better things to do than fiddle with bread. (And I demand that it gets eaten as well. I'm a hag. :girl_devil: :bubble:
Ive always given them the crust. sometimes one of them doesnt eat it, and I dont even mention it...most of the time they eat it though.
i used to take it off when they only had a few teeth, but since they got molars, it's always on now.....they eat it no prob

If you cut the crusts off now, you wil have that struggle for many years to come. Leave them on. I never cut the crusts off. BTW, my dd had PB&J (by choice) almost every day for her lunch at school for 2 years. This year it hasn't been such a hit.
leave on, most of the time they eat it, but occasionally they will leave just a few pieces of the crust.
